NYC in (a few) pictures (and parentheses)

School starts tomorrow and I can hear angels singing. This Summer has been wonderful but this mama is ready for a schedule again! I could write an entire post about my struggles as a “hybrid” mama (working with kids in tow…fun times!), and maybe I will. But not tonight.

Tonight I’m catching up on my New York snaps. The stuff that wasn’t Blographer related. I’m ashamed at myself for the number of photos I didn’t take…especially considering I lugged that darned camera bag all over heck and back. But let me tell you a bit about what I did get…

Because I was traveling with Amanda there are two things you should know: first, we ate an insane amount of sugar because that’s apparently how she rolls while traveling (love that girl!)…

and second, we were treated to some pretty amazing hospitality at every turn. Again, because that’s apparently how she rolls while traveling. She made a quick call to the Omni Berkshire and just like that the amenities started rolling in. Nightly. As in, we left four bottles of (unopened!) wine in the hotel room when we left.

I still can’t even talk about it. That fact that I walked away from all that wine is almost as shameful as the number of pictures I took.

Anyway, the point is that traveling with Amanda is pretty much the way to go. That girls makes magic happen. I plan to become her checked luggage whenever possible.

We were in New York for four days and somehow we managed to hit up Bouchon for macarons three times. I blame it on my sister.

I really wanted her to taste them.

I also really wanted her to gain the five pounds I was sure I was going to gain from them. But of course she didn’t. She never does.

And I can’t even blame it on a different gene pool. Sheesh.

But I digress. Go ahead and brace yourself for the next three random New York shots.

(Loved seeing those pedicab drivers passed out on our way to seeing Wicked. I kind of wanted to ask for a ride just to see the look on their faces when I did.)

And that friends would have been all the shots I got the entire time I was in the coolest city in this country (which goes to show just how uncool I actually am). But thankfully sweet Mr. Mac saved me. We met up with him and his fam (at Bouchon!) on the morning we left and I couldn’t resist grabbing a few shots of his mug.

Because, seriously? He’s adorable.

And also? He knows how to work a camera.

Which I think must come from years of practice at the hands of his mama.

Whom I also happen to think is adorable. (You too Sean!)

And that, my friends, was New York.

Come with me next time?

You totally made Mr. Mac’s New York model dreams come true. And heck, you made my get-to-see-Erin dreams come true too.
Should I admit though we never got back to Bouchon for me to try the macarons? You and I will have to go to the one out here at some point. After you take one single photo of Mac of course. 🙂
