beer knurds.

While in Nashville with the fam a few weekends ago we somehow found ourselves hanging out one afternoon at Grandad’s favorite spot in the city – The Flying Saucer.

After a morning of swimming at a water hole the kiddos had worked up an appetite, and the grownups had worked up a strong thirst for a different kind of watering hole. So we headed downtown where we knew we could satisfy both.

Tom gave us a thorough tour of his beloved beer joint,

which rewards the drinking of 200 different beers with a plate on the wall in your honor.

We paid homage to Grandad’s plate from 2008 (he’s now working on his second)…

And then checked out a few of the others. One of my favorites is right in the middle…it says, “Here’s to the nights I’ll never remember, with the friends I’ll never forget.”

While we waited on the super comfy couches sampling potential beer selections and waiting for our food to arrive, I decided to grab a shot of each couple.

After I got a good one of Meghan and Dave, I took one of my favorite shots ever of my sister.

Ain’t she purty?

I got Mom and Tom in on the action too…

And then I asked Meghan to take one of me and my love. But not without some coaching on how to avoid picture face…

Although for that matter, I could use some pointers myself. I literally look like this in every single picture…

I should have had my sister get another shot after the hefeweizen…that surely loosened me up. =)
