i’ll be gone 500 miles when the day is done.

Here you go. The city of New Orleans with my Supper Club, according to me + my iphone.

ย The highlight reel includes…

Cafe DuMonde for beignets and cafe au lait

scoring a few super sweet deals at the local Urban Outfitters

watching a Bruce Willis action flick being filmed in an alley outside our hotel. We watched from the roof. Someone (don’t look at me) might have yelled “don’t jump!” right before a stunt man threw himself off the building. (okay, look at me.)

biking through some of New Orlean’s lesser known historic, artsy neighborhoods

drinking lots of Abita

and champagne

and bloody marys

and mimosas

breakfast at Brennan’s

lunch at Mother’s

muffulettas at Central Grocery

dinner at Galatoires

portabella mushroom fajitas at Superior Grill

dancing/bowling at the Rock and Bowl

broiled oysters at Dragos

singing “shake it like a polaroid picture” everytime I “developed” an pic using the Shake It Photo app

tea at Windsor Court

a quiet drink at Arnaud’s French 75 just off Bourbon

dinner at Commander’s Palace

nonstop laughing with (and at) friends

sneaking down to the hotel bar with my husband after the rest of our crew went to bed

accidentally handing out my blog address to a stranger-turned-one-night-friend at said hotel bar

watching my husband attempt to tieย a bowtie

whacking myself in the head with a seatbelt in a cab built for 8, carrying 9 passengers (I still have a bruise)

That just about covers it. And doesn’t begin to cover it at all. Fun times, my friends. And as promised, we’re home…fat and broke.

What a fun trip! I love beignets, I think I would’ve been eating those every single day of the trip.

Love it! I am dying for some Cafe Du Monde beignets!

Of topic question – one of these days will you pretty please tell us what lens you use for your “everyday” photos? What lens did you take to Disney?

Looks like y’all enjoyed yourselves. And it was a great week for it. The weather was great! Charbroiled oysters from Drago’s are my FAVORITE! How did you like them?

I love the iphone pics. That Shake It Photo App is awesome! I love it so much. How did you get the collage? Looks great!

So glad y’all enjoyed your time here. I wish I could go to the city every weekend. So much to do. So little time. ๐Ÿ™‚

Erin, you’re making me homesick! I love everything you did. I miss the food more than anything I think. Sounds like a great time with friends! Glad you enjoyed my old little city.

Thanks for the memories!

Oh wow! How much fun! I’m hungry now ๐Ÿ™‚

Darn you, Erin Cobb! My husband has a conference in NOLA in August, and I had managed to convince myself that the RESPONSIBLE thing to do was not cut out on work for 4 days, but to just join him over the weekend. Now you’ve gone and convinced me that I DO need to be in NOLA for all 6 days! The least you can do is come up with a good, believable illness that will cause me to be “out sick” for 4 days in August…
