More Questions, Answered

It’s Samantha again.  Erin doesn’t even know I’m blogging, but that’s ok.  Jodi asked some good questions on my previous post, and I thought I’d share the answers with all of you.  But before I do that, let me just say that Amy’s version of that wedding in  the previous post was extremely tame.  🙂  Here are Jodi’s questions.

1.  Name something that you never would have done if Erin didn’t make you do it.  Um, Erin is pushy.  She has extremely high expectations of herself and those around her, which is something that I really admire about her and value in our friendship.  She gives so much of herself to everything around her, and that’s had a huge affect on me.  Would we have attended church so regularly as a newly married couple if the Cobbs didn’t?  I don’t know.  Would I have entertained as much, crafted as much, volunteered as much?  Probably not.  Erin really encourages and even pushes those around her to be their best selves, which I think is pretty remarkable.  But the one thing that sticks out the most is that Erin FORCED ME to try a pimento cheese sandwich the last time I was in Huntsville.  Now I love food and trying new things, but I really thought that sandwich sounded gross.  She made me try it, and guess what?  She was right.  It’s nasty but it’s delicious.  🙂

2.  Best/Worst trips you’ve been on together.  Hands-down the best trip we’ve been on together was last year’s trip to Isle of Palms (Amy, Erin, and I are busily planning our return trip as we speak!).  It was AWESOME.  A good runner up would be our book club girls’ weekend to Las Vegas in ’09.  We had a really luxurious weekend and it was fabulous.  Worst trip?  No question – the Cobb/Clark camping adventure in Ohio.  I am not the most outdoorsy person on the planet, and at that time (pre kids) I really valued my weekends for catching up on sleep and doing projects, etc.  My husband, who is very outdoorsy, convinced us we should go on a camping trip, so off we all trotted to Kentucky.  The trip took hours longer than planned, and once we arrived after getting pretty lost we couldn’t get a campsite near bathroom facilities.  Running water had been my one condition for making the trip, so  I was not happy.  And remember how I told you Erin has a bunch of annoying habits?  One of them is being overly cheerful when somebody is in a bad mood.  I wanted to kill her and Steve, and probably even Brent for good measure.  Luckily once we got settled, we had a pretty fun time. 🙂

3.  Erin’s a sugarholic.  Discuss.  Omgoodness, you people have no idea.  All of us definitely like to eat, but there is nothing like Erin and sweets.  She can polish off a huge meal and still eat a dozen cookies or a bag of candy.  I literally don’t think I’ve ever seen her eat less than 6 cookies in a sitting.  And I don’t think I’ve ever seen her turn down a treat.  Ever.

4.  Have you ever had any big fights.  Yep.  Thankfully we’ve worked through them.  Erin and I are so close it’s almost like she’s my sister, and from what I know about siblings, sometimes they argue.  🙂

5.  What’s your favorite photo of Erin?  You know, there are so few!  Before the girls were born (and before digital photography really took off!) we rarely took pictures.  And since 2005, it’s almost always Erin taking the pictures.  I do love the one Amy posted yesterday, though.  🙂  Oh, and here’s one I took of her a couple of years ago that I like.

6.  Do you have plans to be old ladies together?  Details.   We’ve definitely talked about how we’ll probably be old ladies together.  No definite plans.  I think we’re counting on Amy to figure out a plan since she’s the most organized of the bunch.

Happy Weekend, Pigbear readers!

I’m just so proud of you and Amy. You both are doing a wonderful job on the P’bear! A perfect balance of both your perspectives mixed in with a pinch of embarrassment and spunk! You both are so awesome and it’s been fun to watch you three grow together over the past 7? years! Wow, are we getting old or what…okay, I speak for myself youngsters. 🙂

Erin, you did good but I have to ask…what moment of weakness allowed you to grant Amy and Samantha access to your blog and the ability to post photos! HA! Too fun and guess what? You’re not alone, we all have embarrassing photos on the web. I choose not to go find mine right now. 🙂

I remember Erin and I went to (I think) a candle party on night. We went out to eat first and the hostess was serving desserts at the party. Erin made these weird noises when she would bite into every single dessert. I’m pretty sure no one else notice but it was loud enough for me to hear. I never knew where she put all that sugar!

Another example of her sweet tooth is Mazie’s first Halloween. We dressed her up as a pumpkin and took her to the Cobb’s to help hand out candy. Erin ate 4-5 pieces of candy for every 1 piece she gave away (easily).

Love you, Erin!
