ten on tuesday.

1. After my post last week about my desperate search for a twin pair of my sister’s vintage Frye boots one of my Facebook friends tipped me off to shopgoodwill.com. Oh my heavens. If you’re a thrifter with very specific (nice! high end!) things in mind this might just be your utopia.

2. And, yes, they had my boots! They should arrive this week.

3. My sister has gotten me hooked on Post Secret. While the site isn’t for the faint of heart or those easily offended, it’s certainly a study in human nature, both good and, well, secret.

4. Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of spending a day mentoring a new friend, Elizabeth Holder. There was pizza, gelato, L lenses, and photoshop involved. Talk about a good time. You can read what Elizabeth had to say about our time together here.

5. I regularly schedule phone consultations and in-person mentoring. 2010 mentoring opportunities are fullly scheduled but I’ll take on a handful more in early 2011. Just email me if you’re not local and you’re interested.

6. We returned home yesterday from a long weekend in Panama City Beach visiting my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece and nephew. They’re fabulous. My SIL made the most delicious Indian meal on Saturday that we happily ate for the next three meals. I’m fairly certain it will come to me in my dreams soon.

7. While in FL Sarah was diagnosed with impetigo. It was gross so I’ll spare you the link. The good news is that she’s completely healed and never had any pain or itching from the whole ordeal. It seems our family has a knack for picking up some pretty random infections. Maybe I should rethink that whole “dull women have immaculate homes” idea.  😉

8. The iphone app Angry Birds should come with a warning label. I think it should read something like this, “Warning: contents are highly addictive and may cause bouts of foul language, antisocial behavior and general lethargy.”

9. This article on The Creative Mama had me at “Like most of yours, my to-do list is always a mile long.” Have your tissues and your grama’s phone number handy.

10. This morning I rediscovered one of the best presents I was ever given (May, 2008). And I fell in love with my husband for the millionth time. If you click on nothing else today, click on this:

Awww… that is super cute!

Lorena MoraOctober 12, 2010 - 2:28 pm

I read post secret too heard about it first from Tara Whitney. I follow them on twitter. Yes Angry Birds has given my husband foul mouth but it is very addictive and my little one gets excited when he passes a level.

I didn’t realize you mentored… What’s the cost in person? If you don’t mind me asking, sorry. My email lmora187@yahoo.com. I might just have to start saving for mentoring that would be the best gift for myself!

I love B saying to that precious baby that his job was not to fall off the couch. Priceless! Brent is so freaking sweet. Love you guys!

My cheeks hurt from laughing at that video. Yes, it’s super cute and the ending just cracks me up over and over. It perfectly summarizes trying to do something with a two year old whether it be photos, videos, phone calls, songs, etc. Their attention, Brent’s patience and all that is in between makes it just precious. The best part is when Brent says, “Sarah Loraine!” heeheehee I’m still laughing and really have not idea if this comment makes any sense whatsoever! And nope, I’m not even going to proof read it! Brent rocks! (And so do you!)

Alla has had impetigo FOUR times, so we’re like pros over here. Beware, once she’s had it, she’s probably prone to it. Alla gets it in the exact same spot every time!

Love the video. Such a sweet idea! I showed my husband, so maybe that will inspire him (even though he’s not musical) to do something cute in the future.

You most definitely have a keeper!! 🙂

Stopping by at Denise’s urging…so glad I did! You have such a well-crafted blog. I especially love the photography and your “Ten on Tuesday” concept…like the “Post-it-Note Monday” concept but without the muss and fuss. Brilliant! 🙂

I’ve been following Post Secret for a while and I love it! I am usually at home on Saturday nights, so around 10 p.m., I always check for the new “Sunday” secrets.

Listening to NPR on our trip (first time in years!) there was a story about a woman who found a painting on shopgoodwill.com. She then discovered that someone was looking for it in 1996 and then set out to find the woman. Cool story. And I thought of you and this post (#1 to be exact!).
