In The Garden

Okay, get in your best Willie Nelson voice. Let’s all join in, “I have come to the garden alone…”. Well, actually, I didn’t come alone–I tagged along. Deed had a photo shoot scheduled Friday afternoon with a family, and the locale was the Garden of the Gods. In case you couldn’t tell from the different writing style and somewhat obscure reference to an old gospel song, this is not Erin blogging.

Usually when Daddy blogs, there’s a video, but not this time. It was such a gorgeous day that I decided to take my camera (Deed’s “old” one) and try my hand at some photos. Sarah was feeling so much better, and she and I had an absolute blast. If you’re ever in Colorado Springs, you must go to the Garden of the Gods. It is a public park full of great rock formations and views of Pikes Peak. I’ve included a few snapshots to prove that Sarah is feeling better.

Princess Pigbear and the Raiders of the Lost Ark?

I like this shot of a rock formation called “Kissing Camels”:
But Sarah might ask, why bother with Kissing Camels when you can kiss the earth? And then swim in the earth?

What a great time. The good news is that Mommy has a photo shoot today, too, this time in Fox Run Park. So we’ll get to do it all over again. I’ll leave you with this one.

She does look like she is feeling better. What kid doesn’t love swimming in the dirt? I can’t wait to take the girls to the Garden of the Gods. It is a spectacular place.

Beautiful pictures! I went to the Garden of the Gods a few years ago. Brings back good memories with my family! I like the one where you can stand underneath a rock formation and pretend you’re lifting it. Pretty neat. Glad Sarah’s feeling better!

Love the new banner!!!

That’s the Sarah I know – face down, eating the dirt.

It is so good to see and hear that Sarah is doing so much better. Love the back drops. It looks as if Deed might have some competition, when taking pictures!!! Way to go, Brent….
love to you all…

Brent, Erin, and Sarah,
We were fortunate to visit Garden of the Gods the first year you were in Denver during our visit. I still have the picture of Erin and my kids. It is a very beautiful place to visit and the views are unbeliveable.

OK, I’m sitting in FL, a little bit sunburned from the beach, and now I’m homesick for Colorado Springs. Wandering from state to state makes us miss where we AREN’T, even though we are happy where we ARE.

This comment isn’t about this specific blog entry. I absolutely love all your pictures!! You have such skill and talent. I am amazed at how Sarah “glows” in the pictures. I don’t know how you work the lighting to get that type of effect, but it is truly beautiful! This is the first time I have left a comment, but have browsed for a few months. I have enjoyed watching Sarah grow and hear all the stories about the girls from Samantha. The Baby Gap thing was too cool! I promise to start commenting. Take care and I’ll be in touch!

That was a pretty corny reference to one of my solid gold hits. But at least someone remembered it.
