ten on tuesday.

1. Sarah stayed home from school today, sick. I suggested she work on some Rainbow Loom bracelets that’s she’s promised to make for Lyn’s Gracious Goodness. Miss LeeLee has sweetly offered to let Sarah set up a little display of bracelets in the restaurant but Sarah has been very, very lax in making them. When I mentioned this to her today she said, “Mom, I’m just not a girl who rushes.” Which would be a thoughtful insight if it were even vaguely true. It’s not. At all. I said, “Sarah, you have been a girl who rushes since the minute you were born.” To which she replied, “but I wasn’t in a rush when I was coming out of your tummy.” Touche my girl, touche. At 11 days past your due date, you were most certainly not in a rush.

2. It’s hard to believe that our 8th celebration of that very late birth date is less than three weeks away.

3. Since Brent is still furloughed he joined me on a training run yesterday. I told him it would be nine miles but it was really much closer to 10. I didn’t divulge that until we were about 3/4 of a mile in (far enough away from the house that he wouldn’t turn back). Of course he was amazing which made me love him for being up for anything and also hate him for being so darn good at anything he tries. He’s been a three mile runner for the last year (while also bike and swim training for triathlons). I so wish I was the kind of person who could go from running 3 miles to 10 miles and think nothing of it.

4. We’re headed to Auburn this weekend for the homecoming game. Life has been a crazy blur lately but I’m excited to add a little orange and blue to that blur!

5. Facebook observation: I can no longer handle the “I don’t know if this is true or not but if it is I’m scared” posts, followed by a completely ridiculous (usually political – on both sides) article. Snopes makes it so easy to fact check. Why not at least start there?

6. Which reminds me of this list of 14 Facebook People You Want to Block.

7. I think there need to be 15 though. A category should be added for the crowd sourcer. The person who is constantly asking, “Does anyone have a halloween costume/muffin tin/garden hose/piano teacher I can borrow”. In other words a category just for ME. (It’s my favorite way to use Facebook…)

8. By the way, I need to pull together a 50’s girls costume in 23 days. Help a mama out? 😉

9. We’ll also have a Ninjago green ninja in our house for Halloween. That Halloween costume is already secured thanks to a quick-thinking, planned-ahead Daddy. It may be a toddler size for our <40 pound almost 6 year old but he is stoked.

10. Cobbs are headed to Panama City Beach for Thanksgiving. If your family will be on the gulf coast too and you’d like a beach session let’s talk! Fall is my favorite time of year at the Beach…

#5 drives me crazy! Are you really THAT naive people?! I’ve gotten to the point where I comment that it’s spam and/or include a Snopes link. Maybe I’ll be the next person to get unfriended…the one who points out you’re lame. 😉

Speaking of travel family sessions… Any chance you’re planning to come to Imaging in Phoenix this year? Might it finally be my year to be in the right place at the right time?!? 😉

I also have to pull a 50s costume together by oct 18, yikes. Decided to try and make a poodle skirt I found on Pinterest to save some money… Found poodle appliqués at hobby lobby in the baby onesies section. What else are you going to do? Help! : )

We’ll have an 8 year old in the house next, ourselves!

Ha! I call #5 “vague-booking”. One of my former coworkers is notorious for this, always posting sad song lyrics and cryptic messages. But I’m totally guilty of your #15, “crowd sourcing.” And incidentally looking for a yoda costume for my 14-month-old 😉

Man I miss running! Did I tell you, years ago that I was planning to finally get to meet you and have some family pictures/ 10 year anniversary pictures done? That would have been right about now, but I was aiming for wearing my wedding dress for fun. Didn’t happen with this body that will have a baby Thanksgiving week! Auburn has done well this year! I can root for them since they are SEC but not when they play Bama!

Claire, this is the first year in four years that I’m not going to Imaging. Boo! I hate to miss the chance to meet up. =(

Elizabeth, so far we have glasses. That’s it. I think I have a poodle skirt secured. Beyond that I was thinking bobby socks, a short scarf tied around the neck and a white button up shirt. All of this was suggested by my MIL who was a 50’s girl herself so she’s the authority!

AC…I’m asking around for you now. =)

Heather, Brent and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary three years late. So y’all can too! Ha!

Yes, #5 totally drives me crazy.

The other one is the people sharing lame-o recipes (usually from some FB Page called called “super protein packed mama” or “healthy skinny something”) on their FB because the post says “save it to your wall so you can find it later.” Isn’t that what printing or Pinterest is for?

And I’m sorry but some oatmeal, peanut butter and chocolate chips in an unbaked ball is a cookie not a “healthy” protein source.
