ten on tuesday.

1. We got our girl back from California tonight! She and my sister flew in this evening and Sarah immediately asked for Krystals upon touchdown. I guess our Southern girl was having deliciously square hamburger withdrawals!

2. As Sarah took off last week with her Uncle Dave and her cousin Charlotte I posted a picture of their adventure on my Facebook page. The very first comment on that picture said, “Bravo! If you allow kids to have adventures they come home with lots to share. If you prevent them from having adventures they can’t wait to escape!” And in that moment my anxiety faded (mostly) away and I started looking forward to hearing all about the fun when she returned home. And boy has she had lots to share!

3. Ephraim is still with Brent’s Mom and Dad and we’ll meet up with all of them tomorrow for a bit of a family fun. Can’t wait to get the gang back together again.

4. Now onto the randomness. I ran across this interview with Bono discussing Jesus and his faith. Fascinating.

5. In other interesting reads, I couldn’t agree more with this article about today’s trend toward “kid food”.

6. Last night Brent and I were enjoying our last alone sleep before the kiddos came home and were both planning to get up early to exercise before work. At 2:45 we heard the tell tale chirping that can only mean one thing: bad smoke detector batteries. So Brent ripped two detectors out of the wall and then we went back to sleep. Then at 3:20: same drill. So two more smoke detectors came down. (Yes, we have a lot of smoke detectors.) Then it was 4:20 and the chirping started up again. With no more smoke detectors in the vicinity Brent flung open the closet to find my birthday present chirping back at him. He pulled the batteries out, we wrote off early morning exercise and finally got some sleep!

7. And if you’re wondering why I would ask for a portable carbon monoxide detector for my 33rd birthday, the answer is this. One of Brent’s coworkers was in that family.

8. Last week my children had an absolutely phenomenal time at Camp Marantha’s day camp. If you are local, send your children without hesitation. Ephraim was the youngest camper there and had an absolute blast. His only complaint was that it ended. And that says a lot for a little boy who can find something to complain about in anything.

9. What does it say about me that I’m currently obsessed with the Florida Georgia Line/Nelly collaboration on “Cruise”?

10. And finally, here’s a little bit o’ youtube goodness for you. A slideshow of some of the family portraits I was honored to create at the Downtown Rescue Mission on Sunday:

I just had to share… While I was watching your slideshow I had the sound muted. Because in the next room my husband was playing Pandora. Just as the slideshow started Matisyahu’s song one day came one. It felt like a perfect, hopeful match to the pictures you captured. So much love and hope!

I do agree with all the ideas you’ve presented in your post. They’re very convincing and will definitely work. Still, the posts are too short for starters. Could you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
