preK graduation

Before I do anything else let me announce the winner of the spot in Big Picture’s Phone Photography Project. Congratulations to J.J. who said: “Fisher found my brothers old battleship game at my moms but after playing on the iPad, it’s a bit slower:) he lasts for about half a game!” (J.J., I’ll shoot you an email tomorrow!)

Now onto the long overdue subject at hand.

Ephraim graduated from Pre-K about a month ago. And I don’t know where this Summer is going but it sure is going there quickly. We’ve already done so much that I want to share about and yet I haven’t finished sharing about our school year! So this one may be short on words but long on pictures…

Ephraim scored a spot in the inaugural class of an awesome public pre-K program at our elementary school. It was everything we hoped it would be (and more!) and our boy learned so much about himself and his world over the course of the year. We were super proud of him as he headed up to nab his certificate…and he was pretty pleased with himself too…

His teachers had an adorable program planned for the parents. This might have been my favorite moment…

Ephraim adequately prepared me for the events of the day by saying, “we’re gonna make you cry.”

I think he knows his mama well.

After the presentation he headed into the audience to show off his loot.

And then we stopped in the lobby for one more round of photographs documenting our favorite son.

And although he grew so much this year and changed more than I could have imagined,

I’m happy to report one thing hasn’t changed…

he’s still (and will forever be)

his mama’s best boy.

I have a best boy too-who just like Ephraim knows how to make his mama melt! Great pics!

Is it weird that I cried even though I don’t know your family? We have a similar family dynamic, and my best boy is going to pre-K next year. I’m already dreading his first (and then his last) day. Cheers to a great summer!

i’ve followed your blog for a coplue years now and i’m always so excited to read what you have to say. i find it crazy how much i can relate to you in regards to the kiddos. sometimes when i read your posts about sarah and ephraim, i feel like i could just substitute my kids’ names in their place. my daugher, halle (5) and son, gage (2), have a wonderful relationship as well. halle just started all day kindergarten this year and it made me really aware of how much gage adores his sissy . when she comes home from school he greets her with a hug and they are off to play together for hours.and that post where you showed pictures of ephraim in some girly dress-up clothes that goes on in my house almost daily.
