ten on tuesday.

1. I finished the Lynchburg Half Marathon (and its infamous “Whiskey Hill”) on Saturday, breaking my previous best time by over 5 minutes. I am elated! My time was 2:04:43 and I officially have my sights set on a sub-2 half. Gosh I hope I have it in me!

2. I have a little race ritual that I delight myself with. Whenever I see a photographer on the course I give a full out flail, whoop, and open-mouthed holler. It’s equal parts surprising, entertaining and disturbing to my fellow runners. And to myself. I honestly don’t know where it comes from but I can’t suppress it. Sometimes the images end up on the web somewhere or emailed to me by the race photogs. This particular race’s image ended up as the cover photo of a weekly Huntsville runners’ email group. Oops. I would show it to you but, you know, copyright laws and all. And the fact that I look like a complete idiot.

3. This morning when I tried to wake Ephraim up from school instead of his usual, “five more minutes, Mom” he said, “Mom! I’m not finished with my dream!”. Then he rolled over, waited approximately three seconds and then said, “There. I’m done now.”

4. The weather here in Huntsville has finally turned. We can now stop complaining that it’s too cold and start complaining about bugs. And heat.

5. My Dad is officially under contract on a house in Huntsville. Woot! This will be the first time I’ve lived in the same state as another member of my family of origin in 13 years. (<— Did that sentence even make sense?)

6. The mother of Newtown victim Ana Marquez-Greene wrote a beautiful piece in USA Today last week that I think is very much worth a read.

7. Operation Give-Up-Sugar was useless once again. I think I lasted a day. Today I had a bundt cake, an ice cream cone and several pieces of candy. I need a 12 step program.

8. Have you seen Reasons My Son Is Crying? I’m not sure how I’m supposed to feel about it. I’m sure there’s a level of WRONG in there somewhere…but every time I click on it I just laugh.

9. Which is also how I feel about “Approximately 3 Minutes Inside The Head of My 2 Year Old”.

10. Photog friends, I need a favor. I’m looking for a photographer who fits the following description to work with me on a personal project. Please email me or comment if you know of someone who fits the bill…

An uber-talented and kind children’s portrait photographer who works with available and artificial light in the United States.

That’s it. Should be easy. Hit me with it! Pretty please? =)

My husband and I use natural and artificial light all the time, and I love doing children’s portraits! You can see if our style fits what you’re looking for on our website. I want to know what this project is now! 🙂

Being that I have a two year old, #8 cracks me up. It certainly does feel like she cries all the time.

Curious what this personal project is all about 🙂 hope I can help. I shoot available light as well as artificial in my studio. Look forward to hearing what’s on your mind with this 🙂
