ten on tuesday.

1. So sorry that posts have been few and far between around here lately. Hang tight with me for another week?

2. We’re hanging in Dayton this week for Spring Break while Brent serves his AF Reserve duty. Even with the snow, I really, really love this place.

3. I’ve been following the escapades of my fellow Huntsville Spring Breakers via Facebook and I’ve decided that I’d rather be somewhere cold for Spring Break that I knew was going to be cold, than be somewhere that I thought was going to be warm – and wasn’t. Feeling for all you beachcombers this week!

4. On the way to Dayton my sister, my grama, my Aunt Lori and I surprised my mom with an epic girls’ weekend of thrifting for her 60th birthday. What an awesome time we had! (Pictures forthcoming). Happy Birthday mama!

5. This thrifting trip was all about books for me. I think I came away with at least two dozen chapter books for Sarah (which will last her about a month, maybe) and an ambitious choice for me: The Pillars of the Earth. I know Oprah was all over this book like a decade ago but I’m a little behind the times. Don’t hate. I’m about a third of the way through and loving it.

6. Did you see The Purple Peanut Minisession sneak peeks? Oh my.

7. Right now the kiddos are snuggled up on the pull out couch “next door” (air quotes necessary in a hotel suite) watching Chopped with their daddy as they drift off to sleep. This is the stuff childhood memories are made of, I’m convinced.

8. Our trip to Dayton kept us from our traditional Palm Sunday cookie baking tradition. I think this might be the first Palm Sunday we’ve missed since Ephraim was a baby. Don’t worry though sugar cookie-loving neighbs, we’re just postponing until our return this weekend!

9. I’m sugar detoxing again. Pray for me. Better yet, pray for my family. 😉

10. Do you know how hard it is to pass up a Killer Brownie from Dorothy Lane Market? It’s almost as hard as watching your children and husband eat one right in front of your nose. Oh sugar addiction, I will beat you!

Enjoy the remainder of your spring break! We are just so excited to reach 50 (at home) this week that we’re hitting the zoo! HA!

I DO know how hard it is to resist a killer brownie from Dorothy Lane market!!! I’m originally from Cincinnati, and my in-laws are in Dayton! The first time I had a killer brownie I thought I died and went to heaven 🙂

I hope you love Pillars of the Earth as much as I did. I read it twice and couldn’t wait to read World Without End when it came out. Have a great break!

Pillars of the Earth is great! Have you seen the mini-series? We got it on Netflix, and I heard that World Without End had one too, although I haven’t seen it.

ENjoy! And may I tell you how much I LOVED Clean Color for Lightroom? Worth every cent even though I already had Clean Color for PS. Wow! I edited three months of photos in no time at all after watching once. (OK, so I took notes.) LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Pillars is a great read – I got so wrapped up in the characters that I was really sad when it ended! Have you read Same Kind of Different as Me? Amazing – quick and easy read. Very touching and spiritual. Happy vacationing!

I love it when you talk so nicely about Dayton. I grew up in Centerville and was just there visiting myself. Had some Marions pizza. I made my husband drive a long bit of Far Hills so I could see some old favorites. Can’t believe no one bit when I yelled…”who wants to drive past my old house?” Guess they were tired of hearing about John Hole Elementary, walking to Woodbourne Library, and the Cone, and Bill’s Donuts, and…
