tuesday.

Early Sunday morning Brent’s grandmother – Georganna Dethrage Cobb – passed away peacefully at almost 93 years of age. Brent was blessed to be by her side as she went. And today we were all blessed to celebrate her life. Brent and Tory spoke so lovingly of their beloved GG at her funeral this afternoon. Two beautiful testaments of, as Tory said, a woman who loved her family fiercely. We will dearly miss her playful, spunky presence but rejoice that she has broken the bonds of her earthly body, and is celebrating life with her Creator tonight.

I have lots of ToT goodness to share but thought I’d wait until tomorrow if you don’t mind. It’s been a long day and I plan to snuggle up with my honey, who happens to have inherited his grandmother’s fierce love of family. What a lucky girl I am to be a witness and recipient of such a legacy.

(A few of my favorite GG posts here, here, here and here.)

So sorry for your family’s loss. It is very obvious though that knowing such a person only made your lives richer and fuller, even after her passing. Peace and blessings to all of you during this time.

I’m sorry : ( Matt’s grandma died a few weeks ago and it was extremely hard for everyone, so we understand just what you’re going through.

My heartfelt condolences to your family. We mourn the loss of GG too. Because through your stories and pictures, you have brought a part of GG to all of us and it feels like we know her even though we’ve never met. Some people seem like they will never leave us, and GG was one of those people. I will think of her every time I see a jar of Ponds in my medicine cabinet – which is now a staple, by the way. 🙂

So sorry for your loss. What a blessing that your children got to experience life with their great-grandma. I was three when one of mine passed away, and while few, I still can remember things about her.

I know I posted on FB, but I just wanted to say again how sorry I am for your loss. We lost our own super spunky adorable grandmother last year, so I know how hard it is. Sending love and hug and prayers!
