I’ve made friends in a lot of strange ways in my life. I’m a military brat so it’s practically in the DNA. My bestie and I sealed the deal after interviewing for the same job. One of my Facebook friends is a super sweet girl I met on an airplane last year. I regularly find myself becoming more “friend” than “photographer” with the clients I work with. And I count many of you loyal commenters as friends even though our contact is limited to the internet. But in my 32 years I’ve never frequented a place enough times to become friends with the owner.
Until now.
My ongoing love affair with Lyn’s Gracious Goodness is well documented. And I think after something like my thousandth visit there LeeLee decided she should just take me in like a stray puppy. So I eat in the kitchen now with the other regulars. It’s better that way…keeps me from being embarrassed every time someone walks in and thinks, “is she here again?”.
The kiddos are particularly happy with my new friendship status. They absolutely adore Miss LeeLee and were over the moon when she invited them to help her glitter the heck out of some pumpkins…

Sarah loves glitter almost as much as she loves Lyn’s vegetable soup (heavy on the okra)…

And Ephraim, well his glitter love is akin to his penchant for Lyn’s mint tea. (And he comes by that honest…the Cottage has two gallons in her fridge right now.)

But they love Miss LeeLee more than glitter and vegetable soup and mint tea combined. And that’s a lot.
They come by that honest too. She’s a pretty good one.
