for the love of papa.

Much to our mutual chagrine Brent’s dad and I have much in common. When I look at these images three similarities stand out to me.

First, we both prefer to be with people which is why Papa jumped in the car (okay, who am I kidding? Papa doesn’t jump anywhere) to spend the day with us when he was left alone for the long weekend by his Valentine.

Second, we both like to love up on Cobb babies…

And third, we both make some pretty wonky picture faces. Lucky for me I don’t happen to have any examples of myself on hand. 😉

I’ll stop with the similarities now. Any more suggestion that he might resemble his beloved DIL will surely send him over the edge.

Hey…did you notice B-Ro’s shiner? He’s had it for about a week after getting a little rowdy in the church nursery. Papa was beaming with pride over his rough and tumble grandson and insisted I get a picture of them together.

Boys are weird. And Cobb boys are even weirder.

Wow, that’s some shiner! I’m sure it won’t be the last either. Papa looks like he was pretty happy to spend Valentine’s Day with the two sweetest hearts in AL.

Such great photos and what a great treat for the kids! That’s quite a shiner on that boy. . . sure does make him look tough! Oh, and if the forecast holds up, it looks like you’ll be treated to nicer weather in Montana this weekend than if you stayed home 🙂

Poor B-ros!!!!! Give that baby a kiss for me.

Poor baby!!!! Tyler went through a period when he kept whacking his face on things. There were 3 in a row (one shiner, two cuts) that were pretty nasty and I was afraid people were going to start thinking that I was abusing him! It looks like everyone was pretty happy that papa came to visit!!

Hey girl! Loves these Papa photos! They are the best! Loving B-Ro’s shiner too! Question? Why aren’t you watermarking anymore? I’m nosy. Thanks!

Poor little guy! But looks like they have a papa that really loves ’em!

Oh and I’ve been trying to email you but I can’t figure out your email address to email you through my yahoo account since I don’t do my email through outlook.

Anyway, I LOVED your cupcakes that you did back for Sara’s birthday. I was wondering you could tell me what icing you used and how you “rolled” the sprinkles on… is there an art to that or what! I’m wanting to make them THIS weekend for my daughters party. I did a test batch last weekend with a box mix and homemade buttercream icing. But I couldn’t figure out how to roll the sprinkles on like you did to make it look so perfect. Any suggestions? Thanks girl!

Have a great week!

Thanks you guys!

Jenn, I got your email…will get back to you today! =)

Lisa, for future reference my address is easy: erin at erincobb dot com. I used homemade decorator’s icing for the cupcakes. It sound fancy but it’s super simple and will spread really nicely. Here is a recipe:

That one says to use hot water but I’ve never done that.

Anyway, to get the sprinkles on the edges of the cupcakes just put the sprinkles on a small saucer and then roll the edges of the cupcake all around until you have them covered the way you like. You can use the same technique to cover the whole top of the cupcake too. Hope that helps. Good luck!
