1. The countdown is ON! Four days until my little family loads up for some extended time out west with family. California here we come!
2. Last Friday night as I was working on my ClickinMoms breakout session (see #10!) my sister sent me a HeyTell asking me what I thought about seeing Ani DiFranco Monday night in Santa Cruz. For the love of all that’s unshaven and deodorant free…YES! I’m so excited. My sister quickly followed up with a message that we “definitely have to make strategic wardrobe plans.” Seems someone is afraid of what this ravioli-making mama of two will bust out for the concert. It doesn’t take a genius to read between those lines. Guess the ol’ sweater set is sitting this one out.
3. Wanna know the best thing that came out of my feature post on KevinandAmanda.com last week? One of my old college dorm mates is a loyal reader of Amanda’s site and she saw me there and sent me an email. Hello old friend! I love that. And the best thing for you guys is that the Clean Color discount code is good through TODAY (use kevinandamanda for $20 off!).
4. Speaking of K and A, Amanda’s celebrating the 10 year anniversary of her site this week…be sure to enter to win all kinds of goodies!
5. In finally registered for the Nashville Half Marathon yesterday. I had high hopes of Brent running it with me this time but it seems he’s injured his knee. Boo. =( Guess I’m running solo again!
6. I went to the dentist this morning and she took note of my snaggle tooth. One of my bottom teeth is misaligned and has been for years – even after braces it popped right back. My sister and mom have it too so I claim genetics. Children regularly ask me if I’m losing a tooth because it juts out just so, and I find that rather endearing. Anyway, the dentist said she could shave it a bit and put a veneer on for a small (ha!) fee. When I told Sarah that she struck down the idea immediately saying, “I think you look prettier with your tooth Mom. And you would look less DeeDee without it.”
7. Just when you’re not expecting it, WHAM!, they hit you with their sweetness. I’m convinced it’s evolutionary – it keeps us from eating our young.
8. I’m convinced that as long as Ephraim helps me cook dinner, he will eat it. I remember Sarah being the same way at his age. It seems the three and four year old set are extremely suspicious of what’s in their food which is why they want everything separated and as broken down as possible. Anyway, if Ephraim stands there and helps me make it he’ll gobble it up like nobody’s business. Last night he wolfed down a huge plate of swedish meatballs, noodles and green beans. And two glasses ofย orange/pineapple/kale juice. Go figure.
9.ย I once read an article about how children are suspect of vegetables because their instincts are to protect themselves from being poisoned – and back in caveman days green things often meant just that. Or something. I tried googling “kids won’t eat green because it’s poison” but that didn’t land me the article. Hoping it won’t land me in the slammer. I swear I’m not trying to poison my kids. That other time was a total accident.
10. My ClickinMoms Breakout Session, “Perfect Clients: Finding Them, Keeping Them, and Helping Them Help You, is LIVE and ready to be downloaded. Like RIGHT NOW! (I’m so excited.) I’ve long said that I have the perfect clients and this session will fill you in on where and how I found them. You don’t have to be a ClickinMoms member to get in on the action either. But really, it’s such a great place just go on and join. ๐ If you’re thinking of starting a business, new to business, or need to add a little pep to your existing business, I think you’ll love it. Here are a few things I’ve read about it already:

“I have read the whole thing top to bottom and I cannot wait to go over it again and again and make tweaks to my business here and there. Not only was is super informative, but so interesting to read, Erin – you didn’t even loose me once during the whole thing and I am easily distracted so that is saying something!!
Love, love, loved it!”
“It is amazing! I’ve been in business for almost three years and do pretty well but Erin’s presentation totally inspired me and I think it’s going to help me take it to the next level.”
