mama said there’d be days like this.

Or perhaps better titled, mama prayed there’d be days like this.

You know, the ones where each child is engaged happily in their own activity,

and the house has that blissfully quite hum of creativity and childhood industriousness.

On this day it was Ephraim playing Spot It with Grover,

and Sarah hard at work illustrating Tickle The Imaginary Dog.

Meanwhile this mama was snapping away.

Because let’s face it, these days are few and far between.

Gotta savor ’em while you can.

Agreed, agreed. Around our house, we had some rough spots today but those smooth spots were oh-so-good. I knew just what you were talking about with the “blissfully quiet hum”….not just at bedtime when they are all asleep :), but when they are actually all awake and engaged in their own activities. Here’s to a good day!

I know just the days you’re talking about!

Enjoy them – my son is now a teenager and he and his little sister bicker all the time! They used to get along like little angels, so this is so new to me. But these days I remember so well. Great photos – I love the concentration in their little faces and the way he is holding onto his buddy!

I’m always on the look out for games my 4yo can play by herself. I’ll have to check Spot It out!
