pizza party

(Seeing as how Ephraim’s birthday party is tomorrow, I figured it was time to blog about Sarah’s!)

For the last several months Sarah and I have been planning a cooking-themed party for her 6th birthday. We were going to have it at home where she and her friends would make pizza and decorate their own cupcakes. Then sanity sunk in and I snatched up the opportunity for a pizza party at our local New York Style pizza joint, Tommy’s Pizza.

We were thrilled that even Charlotte got to join us for the first few minutes of the party (before her flight took off for home).

You guys, this was one amazing party. If you live in Huntsville and are looking for something fun and unique, this is it. First Tommy got a little help from Sarah making the two large pizzas that the adults would be served…

Then each of her little friends had the chance to make their own slice of pizza.

This kid was particularly enamored with that part of the party…

While the pizzas baked Tommy treated the kids to a spin on the carousel just outside…

And by “kids” I mean all the five year olds at the party + Mr. Billy and Mrs. Donna…

Just before the pizzas went into the oven Sarah mentioned that her tummy didn’t feel well. By the time we sat down to eat she was done. She opted for crackers and gatorade at home with her Daddy while her brother served as the stand-in back at the party for ¬†blowing out her birthday candles.

So while it may not have been the party she had bargained for, it was a fabulous day nonetheless. And as far as I know, none of the grown ups even got sick from those two large pizzas she had her sick little Pi’bears hands all over…

Beautiful pictures! So sorry that she got sick but it looks like it was an awesome party.
Have a question about the pictures. do you set a custom white balance even when you go somewhere, like this party? Your coloring is great and I was just wondering if you use your gray card for events like this too, or just for portraits.

Way to go, Mom!!! What a great idea for a party and talk about fitting the birthday girl to a T! So sad she couldn’t enjoy all of it (and so happy no one else got sick!).
