ten on tuesday.

1. I finally had the screen on my old iPhone fixed today after it was mysteriously shattered during a late night Bachelor-watching session. God trying to get my attention? Perhaps.

2. Said iPhone has, for all intents and purposes, now become an iTouch for the grubby little fingers of my children. Don’t tell them that though. I’d rather them think it’s mommy’s toy which they occasionally get to borrow. For that matter, I think that’s a pretty good policy for all the stuff in this house. It’s purely on occasional and selective loan to my children for the next 15ish years.

3. So excited that new TV is on. I’m trying to wrap this blog post up so Parenthood and I can settle in for the night. Any new shows you’re loving so far?

4. Sarah and Ephraim keep insisting that I look like I have a baby in my belly. I just tell them that it’s still chubby from when they stretched it out to make a home for themselves for 9 looooong months each. Remind me why I love them again? 😉

5. This weekend I discovered the loveliness of Packard’s Antiques on South Parkway. I found myself gazing adoringly at one particular booth that was perfectly designed with a beautiful vintage-country asthetic. I picked up two pieces from the booth and was delighted to learn the owner has a blog. Check out Once Upon a Farm if you want to see what one person can do with raw talent, a little paint, and a vision. Beautiful.

6. Did you know last Sunday was “National Back to Church Sunday”? I’m usually highly suspect of such things. In fact, I think I might have rolled my eyes when I saw a local church advertising for it while I was on a run the other morning. But I found the video surprisingly moving so I thought I’d tell the cynic in me to shut up and just share it.

7. Tomorrow I’ll be over on The Creative Mama blathering on about something or other. Don’t miss it. (How’s that for a highly enticing pitch? Maybe the “Back to Church Sunday” people should hire me…)

8. If you’re local and you’re a fan of almost dying over lunch because what you ate was just that delish, check out the Mom About Town feature and giveaway this week – Lyn’s Gracious Goodness.

9. I made my first Pinterest recipe last night and it was a colossal failure. (“colossal” = the word we used to use before “epic” replaced all adjectives.) And what did I learn from that experience? Never, ever try to cook macaroni noodles in milk instead of water. No matter what anyone on the internets might say.

10. This deserves a blog post all it’s own but I’m sliding it into this ToT post since Tuesday is my favorite day of the week afterall. My MIL went in for surgery last Friday to remove what was thought to be a recurrence of cancer in her lung. She’s a life long non-smoker who was diagnosed with cancer last summer. We were hopeful that after surgery last year we wouldn’t hear the C word any longer, and we were terrified last month when a scan showed it had returned. But upon waking from surgery on Friday she learned that the growth they had seen wasn’t cancer at all…and it wasn’t even in her lung! It was as benign tumor in the chest cavity and she was sent home CANCER FREE. Praise God. As my husband says, “It’s like winning the lottery…but better.”

I love you MIL.

My oldest keeps telling me I still look pregnant too. I was like, um hello, I just had a baby 4 weeks ago and it takes time for it to get back to normal. He asks why and I said the same thing…cuz it got all stretched out with you and your brothers in there for nine months. And then came the “how did the baby get in there” question…ugh.

So glad you got such wonderful news about your MIL! And yeah, these days my stomach feels very stretched out…and I still have 7.5 weeks to go! But, it’s all worth it, right? 😉

I’m so glad to hear about your MIL tumor being benign.

I saw that pinterest macaroni recipe and I may have pinned it for future reference. I was going to make it also, but I guess I won’t now.

“…where it’s ok to not be ok”…so touching. We all need a place like that, right?

We made that Mac & cheese too…um no thanks. Try the jalepeno popper chicken recipe, my tip is to marinate the hi Ken in BBQ sauce. You will love it I swear 🙂

Oh & I love parenthood, max is an amazing actor.

So thankful about your MIL! I had been praying for her and am so glad that things have turned out so well!

Also, on a much less serious note, we watched Zooey Deschanel’s new show New Girl last night on Fox and it was hilarious!

I LOVE Once Upon a Farm! Her house is gorgeous – I can imagine her booth is, too. I’m so glad to hear about your MIL. And I’m excited about the Lyn’s giveaway! My son threw a colossal hissy fit in there a couple of weeks ago and I’d like to go back so I can *enjoy* my food in peace 🙂
