ten on tuesday.

1. You know the old saying “I need a vacation from my vacation”? Well Samantha is kicked back poolside somewhere with a book in one hand and a drink in the other while her in-laws play with her children two states away and she hangs out in Boca Raton with her husband for the week. I’m trying to keep venomous jealousy from consuming my heart.

2. But at least I’m not Amy  who is home now and facing a cross country Air Force move 30 days from now. So there’s always that. (Sorry friend.)

3. Prior to Sunday afternoon I had no idea I had been harboring a deep seeded desire to get up close and personal with the WienerMobile. But when I saw that bad boy parked conspicuously behind a Fairfield Inn I whipped our truck around and unloaded my family before you could say ohiwishiwereanoscarmayerwiener. And I swear I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face until we pulled into our driveway two hours later. Just ask my husband. He was visibly annoyed with my chattering on and on about it. Apparently I’m a groupie and didn’t know it. Hey Oscar Mayer: Good Mood Mission Accomplished.

4. While at the beach last week Sarah and Caroline discovered the voice recorders on their mamas’ iPhones. I’m not sure they entirely grasped the concept since it didn’t seem to register that whatever they recorded would be audible to their parents the next day. If I had a picture of the shock and awe on the look of the adults’ faces that evening as we listened to what our sweet innocent girlies were up to, well, let’s just say it would rival the now famous image from the situation room. And also, I can’t wait for Caroline’s wedding reception. I have a little song I’d like to play. 😉

5. Today a friend sent me a link to this blog post, thinking it was just what I needed to hear right now. And boy was it ever. Thank you friend.

6. A little birdie just told me there would be a Clean Color giveaway over on The Creative Mama tomorrow. Check it out if you still don’t have it and you’d like to win one for free! And be sure to check in on TCM everyday this week and next…the Creative Photographer Series is going on right now and it’s always fabulous!

7. With two weeks to go I think it’s time for my Bachelorette prediction. Of course Ashley is going to choose JP. They’ll last about a month until JP gets tired of reassuring Ashley of her self worth every 5 minutes. Also, Ames will be the next Bachelor.

8. Have I mentioned that Sarah starts kindergarten in 20 days? Mixed feelings abound.

9. I’ve almost fully recovered from near fatal stingray barb last week, thanks for asking. (Exaggerate? Who me?)

10. This is a very unofficial heads up that our family is planning a Fall trip to Boston in October. If all goes as planned I’ll take on a full day of photo sessions on October 8th. Just in case you want to unofficially mark your calendar. Details coming soon!

My one and only experience with the Wiener Mobile was kind of surreal, driving on a very quiet curvy road through the garlic fields of Gilroy, CA I saw it in the distance approaching. It passed with little fanfare and no other cars were anywhere near us and now I always think of Garlic when I see a picture of the Wiener Mobile!

Hi Erin! I live in Ontario, Canada, and I’m just wondering, what are the chances that you might travel with your beautiful family to Niagara Falls, or perhaps Buffalo, NY? I would absolutely LOVE the chance to have you photograph my family.

If I could job shadow anyone in this world for a day one of the top contenders would be Pete Souza (White House Photographer). LOVE the way he’s capturing the Obama Administration.

My money’s on Ryan being the next bachelor 🙂

I share your love of the Wienermobile and I, too, didn’t know it was there. I was checking out a Houston blog about cheap things to do around town and they had the Wienermobile listed. We were out the house early the next morning and headed into downtown. We arrived before they finished unloading but stuck around, took some pictures and got Wienie Whistles!! It was awesome.

I’d tell you the story of the time I met the wiener mobile driver, but I never kiss and tell. 😉

I will never forget the time my now grown daughter and her friend recorded a game show about ” you know what”. They were about ten and I had no idea they knew about any of this stuff. I was horrified. I destroyed the tape after a stern talk with my crying daughter. Oh, how I wished I had saved it.
