1. My husband is a huge fan of the Google doodles. I think I made his day this morning when I showed him this catalog of all the doodles from around the world over the years. We once had dinner with a Google PR employee who said that the doodles are actually a big issue for a lot of people. Apparently people frequently get their panties in a wad over what is and is not reflected in the celebratory doodles. Who knew?
2. Sarah was named Swimmer of the Week last week for our neighborhood swim team. To say she was elated would be an understatement. She got a water bottle filled with candy and you’d think she was in possession of the Lombardi trophy.
3. By the way, I have no idea what sport the Lombardi trophy is for. I just know it’s famous and the analogy fit.
4. In the next couple of weeks I’m wrapping up all my Skype ordering consultations for Dayton and Louisville families. One of the families lives in Germany! You can read about her experience being “Pigbeared” (her words, not mine!) here. Thanks Michelle!
5. We’re about to enter three weeks of back to back vacationing (with a bit of work thrown in here and there for “fun”), culminating with our annual Cobb-Clark-Shertzer reunion. To say I’m elated would be an understatement.
6. While we’re in Charleston (Isle of Palms) Amy, Samantha and I would like to have high tea somewhere fun. Any locals have a suggestion?
7. Someone on Facebook last week linked to this amazing message for Fathers written by Jeff Pearlman, a Sports Illustrated columnist. It’s not the message you might be expecting. Take a minute to read it and send it along to any Dads you might know. (if you dare.)
8. And thanks to my sister I have a new YouTube fave. I think I even heard Brent exclaim it to be the sweetest thing he’s ever seen. (listen for “one day I’m gonna whistle?”…my FAVE part!)
9. Which led me to their YouTube’d appearance on Ellen. Sigh. Love.
10. Daddies, invest in your children, particularly your daughters. You’ll reap the benefits for years and years and years.
