mr. thirsty.

My first clue should have been when Sarah asked me for a clipboard. Specific requests mean a specific plan is being hatched. When I tucked her into bed that evening I saw this sitting on the floor…

The next day as I walked down the hallway, undoubtedly delivering the umpteenth stack of clean clothes that week, I heard a little voice say, “now open your mouth for the tickle brush!”, and I ran back for my camera. I knew what I was about to find…

Our kids have gone to a pediatric dentist since Sarah was two. At the office every tool or brush has a child friendly name. The cleaner is “the tickle brush”, the water vaccum gives “kisses”, and the water pic is “Mr. Thirsty”.

All would make an appearance in this little play.

Lucky for Sarah Mr. Dangerous Damaging Drill was left off the cast list.

Mr. Thirsty (disguised as a Taziki’s water cup) was the star of the show.

So much so that it seems the dentist himself needed to take a hit once the patient was finished.

Go figure.

I’m not sure that’s the most sanitary dentist’s office I’ve ever seen… 😉

I love it!!! What a creative dentist, and how awesome that they actually like to go enough to “play dentist” at home.

Fantastic post! And wish I had a dentist like that as a child, mine was like a character out of a Roald Dahl book! Sarah has some seriously long legs, she’s going to be tall!

This reminds me of my childhood–I used to play pretend with my sister all the time. Everything from school, to restaurant, to store (complete with tape-recorded “beep” for the cash register scanner), to church. I don’t know that we ever played dentist, but it sure looks like we should have!

Your kiddos are too cute. It is really refreshing to see kids using their imaginations.
