ten on tuesday.

1. The pillowcase/sheet set in yesterday’s post came from Target. Sleeping bags are from Pottery Barn Kids.

2. Wanna know something funny? Hits on this blog are at an all time high. Comments seem to be at an all time (or last few years) low. Weird, huh? I’m such a terrible blog commenter so I get it…I really do.  I just think it’s funny/curious/interesting!

3. Still getting lots of questions regarding the Clean Color Workflow Tutorial. You can find lots of answers in this post.

4. Yesterday Sarah was going on and on about how good our neighbor’s house smells. I asked her how our house smells and she said, “like cooking. ‘Cause that’s what you’re always doing.” One day I hope she’ll look back and realize what a good smell that was.

5. I wish I could transport myself back in time and fully appreciate what an awesome thing it was to have someone (my mom) cook my dinner every night. I wish I hadn’t turned up my nose at her homemade mac and cheese. Or the goulash.

6. Well, maybe still the goulash.

7. Today I’m wearing a shirt that my sister sent me. She bought it for herself and then realized it was (in her words), “too prim” for her. I of course teased her by saying, “but just prim enough for me, right sis?” =) Actually, it is. I love it.

8. My little fashion antecdotes regarding my sister might lead you to believe she’s a mega fashion snob a la Nina Garcia. Not so. She’s actually a fabulous resource since the girl seriously knows her stuff. And if your sister can’t tell you like it is what good is she? I’ll take her prim hand me downs and her fashion tips any day of the week.

9. If you have an iphone and you don’t have one of these already, you need one…

It’s an actual case, not just a sticker. And it’s a show stopper. I can’t tell you how many strangers have stopped me to ask about it. Which means you actually may not want one. But if you that hasn’t dissuaded you then you might like to know that they just came out with a new one for the iphone 4.

10. Bachelor Pad. Gah. If it hadn’t been for watching with my girls I would have cried over the 30+ hours of my life I wasted this summer watching that mind numbing, pointless waste of a show. I can’t believe I watched the entire season and they didn’t even reward me by announcing the new Bachelor/Bachelorette at the end. Boo on you ABC. Boo on you.

DebsSeptember 14, 2010 - 12:16 pm

Well, seeing as you say you are not getting many comments, and seeing as how I lurk here almost daily, I thought I had better come out of the shadows and tell how great your blog is, and how I wish I could afford to fly you over to the UK and set up some sessions for you here. *sigh* One day. One happy day soon, I hope. Have a great week.

ShariSeptember 14, 2010 - 12:35 pm

Oh I love love LOVE when my sis sends or gives me something. oh.. I just love it.

and SMELLS! OooH eeeM Geee! I can so relate to smells. There are certain smells that remind me of my 1st doll I got from my Grandma at a Western Auto Store. There is a perfume that reminds me of my *other* grandma’s bathroom. Yes, her bathroom. Her bathrooms smelled of White Linen (I think is the name of that perfume)… mmmm.. what lovely images my mind throws up with I smell certain smells. I too hope your daughter remember smells as she matures into a young lady.

and – I just bought the sleeve (with a photo) that goes on iphones. I cant wait to use it. Ha – guess I better wait until I get an iphone. ha

AmberSeptember 14, 2010 - 12:39 pm

I love that iPhone case…if only I had an iPhone! Aha, I have an iPad! Sadly, cases for those aren’t out yet but they’ll notify me when they are. Thanks for the idea!

loriSeptember 14, 2010 - 12:44 pm

I’m anxious for the clean color tutorial release:) Karen introduced me to your blog when I took her class. Keep up the good work on your blog – u always have a great sense of humor!

Lisa CSeptember 14, 2010 - 12:52 pm

Hi Erin,
It will be up to you to take a fantabulous shot of my boys in a couple weeks, so that I can order my own iphone picture thingy! Oh and ever since you posted the newborn with the golden retriever, I have been seriously coveting that photo…so get ready for some slobber from Deacon, as I really really want to incorporate him in your next session…after all, he is our “first born”!

BecSeptember 14, 2010 - 1:01 pm

Ugh- I still don’t appreciate my mom’s goulash. Blech. Or stroganoff. But, the other 3000 thing she cooks/bakes- LOVE THEM! I make sure my mom knows whenever I get the chance to eat her cooking, how much I appreciate it 🙂

Danielle SSeptember 14, 2010 - 1:06 pm

I LOVE the case!!! Eek I am going to have to get this as a Christmas present for the hubby – thanks for helping me check one more item off the list 🙂

Aunt may maySeptember 14, 2010 - 1:34 pm

Yay! So glad you love the top! Text me a pic :)….oh and thanks for the redemption, I was beginning to wonder if I really was as catty as I sounded….you have an awesome sense of style you don’t need any help from me…sometimes my big mouth gets me in trouble. Love you!

MelanieSeptember 14, 2010 - 1:44 pm

I love the iphone cover! I think that will be a perfect Christmas present for my sister. Thanks for the idea!

TanyaSeptember 14, 2010 - 2:14 pm

I too was sucked into my television. Strong hopes we will see Cape Cod Chris on ABC this winter. I’m half tempted to drive around Dennis next time I am on the Cape to spy on him.

tawnyaSeptember 14, 2010 - 2:22 pm

Hi Erin from the Hoosier State! 🙂
First–pure torture to tell us about the prim clothing and NOT give a pic!! So jealous that you have a sis AND a sis-in-law, both that you love and adore. Second–I want MY house to smell like cooking b/c I suspect my kids would not give that same answer, so can you post some recipes!! Some that your kiddos love! And NOT goulash, apparently!

JennySeptember 14, 2010 - 2:23 pm

Glad to here I was not the only one disappointed with the Bachelor Pad. It was a waste of time.

Lorena MoraSeptember 14, 2010 - 2:59 pm

Funny I hold back from commenting because I don’t want to annoy.

I love the iphone case, I will definitely have to order one.

I love that Sarah says your house smells of cooking, I always remember those times when I was little at my moms house. She still cooks, but I’m just not there daily. I cook but I don’t think my house smells as good as my moms did. Oh except when I make soup that always smells good to me.

meliaSeptember 14, 2010 - 7:30 pm

coming out of lurkdom to tell you that ever since k russell linked your blog it has very quickly become one of my favorites. i look forward to TonT posts 🙂

StephanieSeptember 14, 2010 - 7:42 pm

I too am coming out of lurkdom to say that I might just have to breakdown and get an iphone so I can get my own cover like that.
I was also disappointed that we don’t know who will be the next bachelor or bachelorette. I agree that you can’t post about a top and not show a picture!

Diane LavinSeptember 14, 2010 - 8:18 pm

I’ll come out of lurkdom too (is that a word?!) – I love your blog and am so happy KR told her “alumni” about it and you – and I’m especially looking forward to your video!

Thanks for the link to Uncommon – I had just erased the site from my bookmarks because I’ve been waiting FOREVER for the iphone 4 case for my DH and it just seemed to never be forthcoming. Can’t wait to surprise him with a case!

jackieSeptember 14, 2010 - 8:26 pm

Horrible lurker that never comments! I love your blog, your kids are so cute and you are so inspirational!I esp. love the breastfeeding link you posted a while back. I’m expecting my second pretty soon and gearing up for a letdown( and not in the “I actually have any breastmilk letdown way!”). I bookmarked it:)

MomSeptember 14, 2010 - 8:43 pm

I don’t remember the goulash you mentioned? But it’s always nice to know the cooking was appreciated. YOUR cooking amazes me! Love eating at your home, and Sarah is right — it has a yummy cooking smell!

JoannaSeptember 14, 2010 - 10:10 pm

I’ll come forward and post because I read your blog daily and love it. I love your posts and totally look forward to your pictures. That iphone case is awesome – makes me want to have an iphone just for that!

Emily BealeSeptember 14, 2010 - 10:52 pm

I hate, hate, hate the word lurker, I like to see myself as a dear friend you just haven’t met yet. But today I’ll introduce myself. Hi I’m Emily, wife, momma to three, and aspiring photographer. Everyday recently I have been inspired and uplifted by your thoughts and your talents. I am so looking forward to the release of your clean colour tutorial, it could be just what I need right now. Thanks for sharing your trade secrets.

kimSeptember 15, 2010 - 6:15 am

ok, i’m one of those people who read this blog every single week but have only made a comment once (you created that AWESOME 36X36 canvas for us- oh my goodness it is ridiculous, ended up going with canvas2pixel). but i have 4 friends here at school (kettering schools ohio) that are on your blog now, too! i’m a big erin cobb pusher. anyway…i always love when you post pictures of your house 🙂 so…feel like sharing that pale blue color in your family room????

AllisonSeptember 15, 2010 - 6:16 am

Just wanted to leave you a comment and tell you how much I enjoy your posts and photography. Thank you so much for all your tips! And I can’t wait for Clean Color!

ElizabethSeptember 15, 2010 - 6:51 am

I, too, became a fan after hearing about you in Karen R.’s class. Maybe your hits went up because I have been reading EVERY SINGLE entry since you started this blog? Haha. I’ve loved it all so far and am learning a lot. I told my mom about you, and she is quite convinced that we need to be friends because we have lots in common. (I told her that is a bit silly.) To name a few: former teachers turned stay-at-home-moms (I taught 4th), military wives, interest in photography, being cheap (I mean, thrifty), breastfeeding/clothing diapering babies, a love of parentheses, and the list goes on. Anyway, just thought I’d pop in and say hi! I can’t wait for Clean Color to come out! I’m specifically holding off on ordering pictures until I really know how to edit them.

lanSeptember 15, 2010 - 8:17 am

I’m another daily lurker. Can’t wait for your color workflow!

MarisaSeptember 15, 2010 - 8:39 am

Hi Erin, I love your new iPhone case! I have actually just started handcrafting wool felt cases personalized with pictures for iPhones and sell them on etsy (you can find the link on my page). I got my new iPhone a week ago and tried to find something personalized that would protect it in my big handbag. In the end I just invented something new.
I might need one of those hard back cases, too (fits into my sleeve anyway) :-).

I always love those little accessories with pictures on it! So thanks for the great tip!

By the way: I’m also a fan of your blog but never left a comment so far. I once found the link on Karen’s blog. I’m just also such a terrible blog commenter (although I love comments on my blog) ;-).

Greetings from Germany, Marisa

CrissySeptember 15, 2010 - 8:53 am

I read. Daily : ) Rarely comment…sorry…it’s just that I’m usually reading on my iPhone (for which I MUST now get a snazzy new cover!) in the carpool line at my kids school and I hate typing on my phone with my chubby fingers…lame excuse, I know, but I really, really love your blog. And am going to (hopefully) purchase a Clean Color CD for myself (ok I’ll say it’s from my hubby) for Christmas…can’t wait! And thanks for a great blog!

Kelly W.September 15, 2010 - 9:13 am

I, too, invested many hours watching BP, and like I do after every season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette, I was once again wishing for those hours of my life back (think of all the organizing I could have gotten done!). However, since I hangout with my sisters and friends to watch the shows, I figure it’s not a total loss! 🙂

CorrieSeptember 15, 2010 - 10:06 am

Just wanted to let you know I read your blog every day. And your other web sites too. I have enjoyed watching the kids grow and am very thankful that you share so much about your photography with us.

adminSeptember 15, 2010 - 10:26 am

Thanks for all your kind comments yesterday! I promise I wasn’t trying to fish for them but I just thought it was funny that as the blog has grown the interaction has not. I hope it’s not a sign that this place feels less welcoming or open. I do get that all our gadgets make it more difficult to comment (phones, ipads, etc.). I’m guilty of the EXACT same thing!

The color in my living room is Rocky Mountain Sky by Behr (I think.)

SarahSeptember 15, 2010 - 10:41 am

Lurker here. Thought I’d come out of the wood work and say ‘hello!’

SandiSeptember 16, 2010 - 12:43 pm

Love the iphone case! I must order one as well….. you enabler! LOL! 😉

StephanieSeptember 16, 2010 - 1:56 pm

Ok that phone case is awesome! My husband just got the iPhone and I know he would love a case with a picture of his baby girl. Thanks for sharing!

JenniferSeptember 17, 2010 - 9:03 am

It appears that I don’t pay attention to well seeing as no one else has asked this question…but where did you get your lovely iPhone case from?

BTW: Your blog rocks. You can thank the lovely Karen for helping me to find my way here 🙂

JenniferSeptember 17, 2010 - 9:07 am

Ok, totally disregard my question as to WHERE you got the cover…b/c I re-read #9 and there it was…right where it should have been…oopppss!

LoriSeptember 23, 2010 - 11:04 am

Thank you for sharing the iphone cover – i’ve already got a couple people in mind to do these for christmas presents. thanks!
