ten on tuesday.

1. I bought a 2011 calendar today. Not having one is what has kept me from firmly scheduling my LA sessions. Now that I have it I’ll be sending the info out TODAY (or tonight) to those of you who have replied with interest on this blog or Twitter or Facebook. If you don’t get an email by tomorrow with the info and you have previously expressed interest, please email me tomorrow to let me know. There were so many different people leaving messages in so many different places that I’m not 100% sure I gathered them all.

2. I know, I know, my iphone has a calendar that I could have used. But for all my technological advancements I still can’t get behind a digital calendar (google, iphone or otherwise).  There are some things a girl just needs paper for. I think it’s my dad in me. I need my “paper brain.”

3.  Okay Bachelorette fans, do you know about ihategreenbeans.com? My friend Margaret Day clued me in to it last week and I’m pretty well hooked.

4. And in other internet finds this week you may have already seen Mila’s Daydreams being linked all over the web. Talk about crazy cute. Mila’s mom is on maternity leave and creates these dreamy scenes as her daughter sleeps. With the kind of viral exposure her blog has gotten this week I’m thinking her maternity leave is about to become permanent. So long day job!

5. Yesterday Gretchen asked how I pack my Crumpler camera bag so I took a few shots:  My bag holds my Canon 5d Mark II with a lens on (being used to take this picture – a 50mm/1.2L), 85mm/1.2L, 135mm/2.0L and my backup Canon 5d Classic. I stack two lenses horizontally on the left hand side with a padded separator between them. And my backup camera (no lens) tucks on the right side. It’s a tight squeeze but it works. I use the outside flap to house my lastolite collapsible grey card while my memory cards, hairbands, chapstick, broken bracelets, parking stubs, airplane tickets and stale candy goes in the mesh zippered pocket. I also have  the 100mm/2.8 macro that doesn’t fit so I swap it out for the 135 when I do newborn sessions. Otherwise I don’t use it.

6. Speaking of lenses, my Aunt Lori is in the market  for a used 85mm/1.8. If you have one, email me!

7. Yesterday May asked about my brief “life altering” stay in Mississippi. When Brent and I were first married we were stationed in Columbus where he thought he would be starting pilot training. He ended up opting out before starting so we spent 40 days in a TLF (“temporary living facility” for you civilians out there) where I crocheted my days away. I also watched a lot of The Price is Right. Seriously. It was sad to say the least. But we survived and moved to Dayton and the rest is history.

8. Speaking of my history with Brent, someone asked recently if I would share our “love story.” I’m totally up for it. In fact, he says he might consider posting his version of events (because as with all good love stories, we disagree on some key points). We’ll see. 😉

9. I finally got brave and installed CS5. Other than the change in how multiple images are displayed on the screen (not having floating window view as default is about to drive me nuts) I’m fine with it. I’m trainable.

10. I just got an email from Brent saying he would “prolly” stop by the grocery store on the way home from work. Of course I had to respond asking when he became a 19 year old girl who uses the word “prolly.” He has since called me out on the use of “whatev” in a recent blog post.

Whatev.

So you DO want your images to float by default? Then go to Preferences–>Interface–>Panels & Documents and uncheck Open Documents as Tabs.

Float to your heart’s content. 🙂 I hate the tabs as well in CS4.

“Prolly” that’s so funny and I haven’t heard that in a long time. I would love to hear your “love story” I’m a big sap for romantic stories. My favorite movie is The Notebook and after a million times watching it, I still cry.

Thanks for the camera bag info. I’m actually contemplating on getting a new bag. I currently have the Crumpler Six Million Dollar Home bag. In it, I try to put my Canon 5D MarkII, 50mm/1.4, 85mm/1.8, and I just recently got the 24-70mm/2.8….and it’s just not all fitting in there. At all. I thought I might need to upgrade to the Seven Million Dollar Home bag. What do you think? Do you think that would work, or since yours is tight, would you go ahead and get the next size or a different bag? Any suggestions? 😉

I don’t know if anybody already told you about this but the whole no floating windows drove me crazy until i figured out how to to change it. I did a screen shot of how because it was just easier for me to do it that way then try to type it out…here ya go

I love ihategreenbeans too. 🙂 I’ve been reading it for the last few seasons. It’s probably my favorite thing about The Bachelor/Bachelorette. haha.

I’m a paper scheduler as well. I love finding cute planners. So much more fun!

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
