ten on tuesday.

1. Thank you guys for your encouragement in yesterday’s post. And thanks for showing Brent some love too! He was actually behind the camera and we never got a picture of all of us in our rush out the door. He was wearing a very manly shade of pink though. Rest assured. I love a man in pink.

2. Thank you also for the comments about my hair. My mullet and I have come a long way, right? Never again. Never again.

3. If you’ve been around for a few months you probably know about my little friend Ally who is in the midst of her battle with Leukeumia. I was nothing short of ELATED last night when I read about the Ally’s Army party they’ll be having next month to celebrate the end of her first year of treatment. I literally woke up with a smile on my face about it. Why? Because we’ll be there! The dates correspond with our trip to Ohio and I am SO EXCITED to be there with her family and the rest of her Army. Maybe I’ll see some of you!

4. I’ve been winning Brent over to the dark side – the Twitter side. I’ll admit that I was more than reluctant at first to jump on board but now that I’ve been Twittering for three months I totally see it’s merits. When I showed him that he could follow NPR, ESPN, and the moderator of the Presbyterian Church (USA)’s General Assembly, Bruce Reyes-Chow, I think I finally won him over.

5. Remember over a year ago when I said I’d do a series here called “Mama (With a Camera) Mondays”? Well, I’m finally making good on that promise. Only thing is I’m doing it over here. And it’s really geared toward amateur mamas (and daddies!). First installment is hot off the presses – Enjoy!

6. Does anyone know what I need to change in my wordpress settings to make my links appear on separate pages rather than taking you off of my main page? I know that’s annoying and I’d like to fix it.

7. Right  before starting this post Sarah walked up to me and we had this exchange:

Sarah: You’re the best mommy that I love in the whole wide world.

Me: Wow, really? What other mommies do you love?

Sarah: Cooper’s Mommy.

How’s that for honesty? And as an added bonus, I’m pretty sure Cooper’s mommy reads this blog. Hi Cooper’s mommy! Sarah loves you!

8. Google Analytics kind of cracks me up. Here are some of the search terms that have led people to this blog in the last few months:

erin cobb pumpkin brownies,

stamples,

frye boots,

youngest sibling syndrome,

“lady katherine granola bar”,

ponds cold cream,

how much is a birthday party at the little gym,

meet a teenage boy.

I’ve linked the ones that I can track back to specific posts. But “lady katherine granola bar” and “meet a teenage boy”? I have no idea.

9. B-Ro’s favorite phrase these days is “never, never, never.” Oh, and also, “my tummy saying, ‘top eating, top eating!'” He’s a hoot.

10. I’m officially, hopelessly hooked on The Creative Mama. Also passed on to me by my blog-enabling client Kelly A.

I LOVE your hair grown out!!

If your wordpress blog is anything like mine, when you go to create a link in the post, there is a box below it that says Target. Select ‘Open link in a new window’ from the drop down. Hope that helps.

Your Easter photos were gorgeous!

The “meet a teenage boy” makes me think of the post not long ago about Sarah pulling something out of her dirty clothes basket.
My hair is pretty long these days, but I’m considering chopping it off. Do you regret having short hair??

adminApril 13, 2010 - 3:45 pm

Meghan, that’s awesome…THANK YOU! I never realized that before and I’ve been scouring the WP backend trying to find a setting there. I think you’re probably exactly right. I’m on it!

Janie, you have a great memory! I’m sure that’s where it found those words. So funny! And about the hair. I don’t regret that I did it because I’d always toyed with the idea and wondered how it would look. Now I know how it looks on me. And the answer is – BAD. At least the pixie-short hair did. But I’ve seen tons of people it looks really cute on so you might be one of them. You’ll never know until you try!

Hi Erin! I really enjoyed your talk at my MOPS group and, as you know, I’ve been following you on Twitter (@wjcolion). I finally got your blogs into my RSS reader (on my phone), so I’m looking forward to those too! It’s rather hard to comment from my phone though, so I just wanted to say “hi” and let you know that I’m reading, even though I probably won’t comment much. 🙂

I also love the grown-out hair. And I’m right with you with never having a woman mullet again (see HERE: http://phillynelsons.blogspot.com/2008/11/sometimes-bad-haircut.html). Now THAT’S a bad haircut! Yikes! 🙂 Thanks for all you do for us photogs!

KristinApril 13, 2010 - 6:57 pm

How do you look up where google led them to your site?

carol moyerApril 13, 2010 - 9:29 pm

Erin,

I can’t believe that we will see you in May – I have not told the kids yet about our photo shoot – I can’t wait for you to see Sara (and the young lady she is)she has come a long way from the shy 5 year old you taught, and Aaron and Rachel just turned 10 yesterday. I’ll be counting the days

Angie @ The Creative MamaApril 14, 2010 - 11:45 am

And we are officially, hopelessly GLAD to hear you love our blog! Thanks for the love.

KellyApril 14, 2010 - 12:23 pm

Aww! I’m so glad you are enjoying The Creative Mama! And WOW! They left a comment on your blog!!! How fun is that? And btw, your hair looks beautiful! I can’t believe how much it’s grown since I saw you last!

Danica NelsonApril 20, 2010 - 8:39 pm

Google Analytics cracks me up too – apparently yesterday the following search on Bing brought up my photo blog: “2010 moms killing children.” Awesome. Just the type of client I’m looking for right?!

Danica NelsonApril 20, 2010 - 8:40 pm

And I just realized I already left a comment the day this posted. Wow, sorry. I figured why not leave comment #3 and leave an extra cool impression.
