more, as promised

A few more of my faves from this past weekend. We celebrated Charlotte’s first birthday a few weeks late…

She’s not much of a birthday cake fan. I think she falls into the “eat to live” category like her mama. That just may end up jeopardizing our relationship since I am clearly a “live to eat” kind of girl and can’t really relate to anyone that isn’t right there with me.

Love this one of my goofy sis and her girl…

One evening Nana took Sarah out to help her water the flowers. It quickly deteriorated as all things tend to do when a toddler is involved…

Thanks for all the decorating/shopping help in the comments section of that last post. I’ve spent the last several days planning Sarah’s big girl room in my head (could it be that I’m desperate to move?) and you guys have given me a ton of ideas. I think I’m going to hold out for that super cute retro kitchen set that several people say they’ve seen at Linens N Things and Costco around the holidays. If I can’t find it in time I may opt to get Sarah a dollhouse for her birthday and save the kitchen for Christmas. I’ve got my eye on this one. If anyone knows of any other options that are neat, fill me in!

I’m thinking of doing Sarah’s new room using a quilt made by her great, great grandmother as the inspiration piece. You can kind of see it in the photos in this post. I think it’s a nice compromise between girlie pink and this mama’s desire for something a little less…Pepto, if you know what I mean. Then I found this awesome chair from the Land of Nod that just may have to be ours.

As you can see, I’ve spent way too much time decorating a room that we don’t even have yet. We made an offer on a house yesterday but we’re really holding our breath. Not sure they’ll accept it. Think happy thoughts…I need to move!

Looks like she’s having a blast with that hose!!

And I have been looking HIGH AND LOW for that same kitchen for months and months. Sometimes you can find it on ebay but the shipping makes it $$$$! Maybe they’ll bring it back out at xmas.

Pottery barn has some nice doll houses or kitchenettes. Looks like she had a great time in the water.

meganJuly 25, 2007 - 11:08 am

The hose pictures are so fun! I also love the idea of using the family quilt, and the chair is perfect. All you need now is an awesome piece of artwork to go in there!

Don’t feel too bad about decorating a room that doesn’t exist. I will admit (but only on an internet blog) that one day I was web surfing decor sites to decorate our next baby’s nursery. Problem is, I’m not pregnant.

Good luck with the house offer!

Just heard from our realtor and the offer didn’t go through. I’m bummed but we’ll move on and see what else is out there!

that chair is soooo stinkin cute! when she outgrows it, it would be a nice little prop in your photos for a precious outdoors session!!!

sam’s 1st bday is today, and his party is saturday. his theme is similar to sarah’s first. i stole your precious treatbag idea.

i’ll post some pics next week and send you.

Great pictures DeeDee, the first picture of Charlotte is what we refer to as her “Keith” look. Can’t believe how big Sarah is getting. Take care and don’t be too bummed about the house, I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.

I love the Land of Nod catalog that I get, and can’t wait to page through their beautiful things. Very neat studd you have picked out. I have Elaina room decorated in buttercreamy yelllow and a mauve, and a light mint green. They go gorgeous together, with her giraffe motif. Julia is a flower garden room, and COnnor has a Cowboy room. I had fun decorating them all, but can’t wait to move, as I will start ALL OVER with NEW stuff! YEAH!!

WendyJuly 25, 2007 - 12:52 pm

Um serisouly? I worte you have a neat Studd picked out. I meant stuff. What the heck is on my mind?? I neat a break. Cut me some slack.

I know you have a quilt to use as inspiration, but eBay has a great charity auction going on right now. There are hand made quilts from all over the country that are being auctioned under the seller “quiltpinkauctions”. All quilts have been donated and all proceeds go to Susan G Komen breast cancer research. The one I got was absolutely GORGEOUS and very well made. And for breast cancer – they’re PINK!

You can also type “Charity Quilt Pink” into the search engine…

I’m on my way…thanks for the tip!

erinJuly 25, 2007 - 4:11 pm

So, of course the one I love has the most bids and the highest price…sheesh! Those are some GORGEOUS quilts. Everyone should go check them out!

LOVE the photos of Charlotte! I can’t believe how much she’s changed since I saw her a few months ago.

Also can’t wait to see and discuss all your decorating plans next week!

AmyJuly 25, 2007 - 8:47 pm

Oh, I was looking at your last post and saw that you had 42 comments! I was like, 42 comments, holy smokes! Then I saw that alot are your replies (which I love that you do). Even with your comments, you are one popular blogger!

Mom2DrewJuly 26, 2007 - 11:52 am

I know Target also has a series of retro kitchens right now, but that dollhouse rocks! I’m also diggin’ that chair too, think her room is going to be precious!

Are you enjoying your new surroundings?

LisaJuly 26, 2007 - 12:59 pm
