just for fun. and blah.

That picture makes me happy.

Today I seem to have a serious case of the blahs. Not the sad blahs but the I-surely-have-a-million-things-t0-do-but-none-of-them-are-pressing-so-maybe-I’ll-just-sit-here-and-mindlessly-do-nothing blahs.Β

What do you do when you have the blahs? I’mΒ open to suggestions!

Nothing! I give in and go with the “maybe-I’ll-just-sit-here-and-mindlessly-do-nothing”. Sometimes you can’t fight it. I grab a magazine from the enticing stack that has accumulated and I read & flip. :- D Or, put on some great, uplifting music and dance with the kiddos! P.S. So last night the kids and I made your chocolate chip cookies and now I know why you’re doling the things out to neighbors left and right–that recipe makes a TON of cookies. They are so good, though, so I’m sure they won’t last long (already sent some home with Grandpa!) Thanks for sharing!

Love the picture. Target spinng top? We have the same on. πŸ˜‰ And since I have had the winter blahs for a few weeks now I will answer your question. I have been putting a DVD on in the bedroom and I get a book. Then we all cuddle. The kids are happy with their TV and I’m happy with my book. It works!

Blahs here too. I snuggled with Ava on the couch with apples and peanut butter and watched Mulan.

I bake. And sew. And write notes to friends.

Exercise, Watch t.v. (mindless shows such as Biggest Loser, Housewives of Orange COunty), call a friend, write in my journal, go to my neighbors *good friend* house to vent!

I find a way to be productive, so I don’t feel blah and guilty. Even if it means catching up on Tivo. Then, at least I feel like I’ve gotten SOMETHING done πŸ™‚

Gotta love the Blah’s….NOT! I usually end up eating chocolate and enjoying a cup of tea. Or sometimes exercise. And sometimes it’s best just to get up and walk away from the computer….I repeat….walk away from the computer! πŸ™‚

Oops…forgot….I love the top photo…very cool….sometimes it’s fun just to take and edit pictures just for you!

I surf the internet and see what I’ve been missing on my favorite someone’s blog that I don’t seem to have the time to read every day any more…. πŸ™‚

I had the blahs today, which was strange since the weather was so nice and we actually got out for awhile, but I did. My oldest was at school, my youngest was sleeping, and my 4-year old REALLY wanted to play with me. My blahs did not want to play. In the strangest decision ever, I turned on Pandora (for the first time – hello?! It’s awesome!) and we sorted through SEVEN decks of cards that were all jumbled together to see if they were complete (THREE were). Random, huh? But it shook the blahs and Addie thought it was sooo fun.

But usually, when I don’t feel like wasting time like that, I turn on a show for the littles and sleep. Yep. Mom of the year.

I rock out to old hair metal bands….some times, on special occasions, it’s New Kids On the Block. Don’t judge me. πŸ™‚

Thanks for all the ideas and the encouragement that I’m not the only one getting a bad case of the blahs these days! I ended up tackling the huge pile of junk on my kitchen floor and after everything was sorted and put away I felt sooo much better.

So, this is not “blah” related, but I baked your chocolate chip cookies today. Amazing. Plus, I felt like a domestic goddess because I baked them from scratch. I’m also attempting to make my marinara for spaghetti from scratch. And, for the record, your blog always helps beet my blah’s. Honestly. Thanks! πŸ™‚

Oh Ang, I’m SO glad you loved the cookies. They are seriously my weakness. Baking cookies is one of the things that usually helps me get out of a funk…learned that trick from my fabulous Aunt Lori. And that recipe is amazing!

So funny, I just said outloud yesterday “I am feeling so blah. How come THESE people are never blah?!” At the time I was reading your blog and going to check one other. It always gives me a lift. Nice to know you’re so human! And you even have a sense of humor about your blahs. Beautiful.

AmyMarch 4, 2010 - 1:48 pm

That smoothie in the background makes me smile. . . the slice of orange was fabulous and thinking about the kids laughing and enjoying them kicks my “blah”. Thinking good thoughts for you today! πŸ™‚
