sarah lorraine.

Taking my kiddos out for their own dedicated photo shoot is a less than once a year event. Neither of them have had their “official” birthday sessions and, yes, I realize they are both fall babies. Having Amy here gave me just the kickstart I needed to grab Sarah and my camera and head out the door for downtown. We brought Hayden along too and traded kiddos once our own were over us. It didn’t take long. I’m so happy to say though that Sarah has shed much of her former camera aversion and is now pretty happy to have 100% of my attention on her. I’ll take it!

So enough babbling, here’s my girl.

At 4 and (almost) a half.

And I couldn’t resist this little comparison…

And this one…

Two years old on the right, four years old on the left.

I think there’s still a touch of baby in those cheeks, don’t you?

(Warning: at risk of blog banishment only answer that question if you agree with me.)

DeniseFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:03 pm

Beautiful at 2 and beautiful at 4. I think the trend will definitely continue!!!

Jeanelle CarawayFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:14 pm

Precious pics! (as usual!)

Lorena MoraFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:18 pm

So cute that Sarah! I love the comparison it lets you see the changes, but she is still sweet and looks almost the same just taller. Love the stair shots she seems to be loving it.

ellen pattonFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:19 pm

she’s adorable and VERY photogenic (but you know that)!

WendyFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:19 pm

“Mrs. Cobb,
Wow! Sarah is growing up fast. She looks a lot like you! I wish I was close enough to babysit for you. Your previous-kindergartener-now-7th-grader Coplea”

MicheleFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:20 pm

She’s beautiful, Erin. My son is nearly the same age as Sarah (summer baby) and I most definitely agree that I still see baby in her face. I love her sweet mischievous smile.

adminFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:38 pm

Thank you guys! We had lots of fun. I’m so glad she’s a willing subject these days.

Coplea, I would LOVE for you to come and babysit for Sarah. You two would have SO much fun together…and your super-smart influence would be awesome for her. She loves to read just like you did when you were her age! I miss you and I love reading your mom and dad’s updates about you and your sisters. You’ve grown into such an amazing young lady but that’s no surprise. =)

GramaFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:38 pm

Please don’t say four and a half. That means five…. These are great pics, love that little one. So glad it is finally tomorrow! I’ve been waiting for these. Love you!

Holly ClouseFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:39 pm

AH, these are just so precious! I love it. My little man will be 3 soon, and I swear, there will always be some of my little baby left in him. ;o)

robinFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:42 pm

can your little girl be any more gorgeous?! seriously erin.

and OMG, that dress is to die for. i love, love, LOVE it.

LaceyFebruary 28, 2010 - 8:58 pm

Beautiful! Adorable *little* girl and gorgeous, creamy shots. I’m sitting here trying to guess the lens you used resulting in that creamy bokeh. P.S. Love the middle name Lorraine!

adminFebruary 28, 2010 - 9:05 pm

I know, Mom, I know. Brent tried to get me to edit that part out.

Thanks so much you guys!

And Lacey, it’s the 135/2.0 L which I used to hate but now I LOVE!!!

JoeyFebruary 28, 2010 - 9:09 pm

She had Ephraims lips when she was 2! Once you popped that hat on her, I could totally see that Baby Gap winning photo again…She definitely has some baby left in her!

TinaFebruary 28, 2010 - 9:34 pm

She is so beautiful! And they’ll always be our babies…no matter how old they are…so yes, there is lots of baby left in her ๐Ÿ™‚

Janelle AndersonFebruary 28, 2010 - 9:42 pm

So sweet Erin. Beautiful photos. It’s so hard to imagine her with that jet black hair she came into this world with. I remember that newborn baby girl as if it were yesterday and what a beautiful 4 year old she is today. ๐Ÿ™‚

JenniferFebruary 28, 2010 - 10:00 pm

Ohhh..she is just gorgeous…..still looks alot like she did.

KristinFebruary 28, 2010 - 10:05 pm

These are so darling! I know which one is my favorite but I’d love to know yours. I too have fallen into the photographer mom’s rut of never taking “formal” pics of my kids! I went to beauty school too and guess what, my kids and husband ALWAYS need haircuts!

Julie PilchMarch 1, 2010 - 1:03 am

Love love these photos, is there any way you would share some hints or tips on how to get such wonderful shots to a mum of 3? I’m desperate to get some pics like this of my little girls.

LaraMarch 1, 2010 - 3:42 am

Wow! In that trio of pictures at the beginning, the one in the middle…such a clone of her mommy! Sarah is growing into such a pretty little girl. And while she certainly has grown a lot in the last 2 years, yes, there is still baby in those cheeks and in those eyes.

Tracy LushnatMarch 1, 2010 - 5:27 am

you sure make em cute!!

NatalieMarch 1, 2010 - 8:14 am

As Tyra would say, in the fifth picture, She’s got some fierce eyes! She totally can smize at the camera! I LOVE that dress!

tara pollard pakostaMarch 1, 2010 - 8:59 am

She is sooooo cute!
I can’t believe almost 4.5 already!
crazy!!!!! at least being a fall baby,
she doesn’t have to go off to kindy yet!
She still does have some baby left in those
cheeks, cause by 7-8 that will be all gone!
Trust me, my baby girls cheeks are GONE. so sad!
I just love ALL OF THESE!

adminMarch 1, 2010 - 9:05 am

Yes Joey, she DID have those lips didn’t she? Man, I wish for her sake she could keep them!

Tina, I love you for saying that! You can stay. =)

Janelle, I know. Where DID that black hair go? Better yet, where did it come from?!

Jennifer…glad I’m not the only one who can still see “her” in “her”.

Kristin, I have such a hard time choosing favorites, mainly because I can never separate the technical aspects from the art and from the child. So with all that in mind I have to say #9 on the stairs. What about you? Would love to know! (and did I hear you made it to Iheartfaces this week?)

Julie, candy.

Lara, YAY! So glad you can see me in her. I can’t so I love it when other people can!

Tracy, so do YOU!

Natalie, the dress is from gap. Although I’m not sure Ivan would wear it quite as well. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Tara, some days I’m SO glad she’s not going to kindergarten next year and some days I’m DESPERATE for her to go! Most days I’m glad though.

DaphneMarch 1, 2010 - 3:18 pm

Totally agree on the baby cheeks! Great pictures, Erin! She is a little beauty! You really captured her. The comparison shots are priceless!

Melissa MMarch 1, 2010 - 8:31 pm

I love her huge grin with the wrinkled up nose and I am loving that first picture of Sarah in the hat. What adorable pictures! And she so totally still has some baby in those cheeks.

carolMarch 1, 2010 - 9:35 pm

beautiful – explains it all – I see so much of you in Sara – am so excited that you are doing our pictures when you are here in Dayton – maybe the snow will be gone by then

KristinMarch 2, 2010 - 10:13 am

I would say my favorite is the one where she is peeking out of the hat! They are all fabulous thou! I want to be you when I grow up!! I know I’m older than you i just like to think i haven’t reached my grown up years yet. tee hee! And yes I did make it onto the favorites pick at Iโ™ฅfaces! Amy tellin stories on me??

adminMarch 2, 2010 - 11:54 am

Kristin, I never reveal my sources. ๐Ÿ˜‰

LaceyMarch 2, 2010 - 4:01 pm

Thanks, Erin–I was guessing it was the 135 2.0. Which makes me want one. Not need one. But want one for sure–the subject isolation and bokeh are so aesthetically pleasing!

Amy RMarch 2, 2010 - 10:22 pm

Looove these. They could ALL go right on your walls! Beautiful as always.

AngieMarch 2, 2010 - 11:29 pm

Man, is she ever CUTE! I love the fun, bright colors in her outfit, down to the shoes! It just seems to fit her personality (and yours). Wish I had your skillz!!!

MimiMarch 5, 2010 - 1:40 pm

She is SO stinkin’ adorable — and full of personality! What a lucky mother you are!
