yes, I realize this is ridiculous

I was getting ready for playgroup yesterday morning when the FedEx guy rang the doorbell and stood there waiting for me while standing next to a cardboard tube as tall as he was. When I answered the door and said “what in the world is that?” I kid you not, his answer was: “That’s what I want to know lady…open it.” When I saw that the oustide of the tube was stamped “Baby Gap Marketing Materials” my heart did a little flutter in my chest. Exciting stuff was inside!

I opened it to find the HUGEST PI’BEARS I’VE EVER SEEN. The window display Pi’bears was now staring at me from my kitchen. Since playgroup would be commencing in a few minutes I figured I better slap that bad boy up for us all to enjoy. (I know the other moms were just as in love with it as I was, right?) As it turns out I think there are actually only two other people on the planet as pleased with the Ginormous Pi’bears as I was: Pi’bears Daddy and Caroline. I’m pretty sure Caroline will be asking for her own 8 foot tall picture of Rar-ah for Christmas. Those elves better get to work.

In typical toddler fashion, the kiddos thought the cardboard tube was the very best thing ever. Balls can go inside! Voices can go inside! Cars can go inside!

Even daddy joined the fun…

We had a showing this evening so I had to take down the window display. I’m just not sure the largest Pi’bears you’ve ever seen is the biggest selling point for our house. However, if you’re as enthralled with it as I am (or even a tenth as) then check out your local babyGAP from now until two weeks from now to see her in the window!

If you have emailed me I PROMISE I’m going to email you back. Soon. Someday. Soon.

oh my, erin! that baby is big. but sarah looks fabulous big.
what do you think, it’s blown up to 800%?!? 🙂

I will be taking a trip to the mall just to see pigbear in all her glory! so exciting for you.

love the tube shots too! cheap/free toys are always the most fun…

A.K.April 20, 2007 - 5:17 am

What are you talking about? I would buy the house on the spot if it had a big ole picture of the pigbear!!!

might be the selling point!

P.C.April 20, 2007 - 5:54 am

WOW, that is BIG. I still haven’t had the time to drop by our Baby Gap, but I’m looking forward to it.

RaeApril 20, 2007 - 5:56 am

Well, I think it’s fabulous! You’re going to make me have to drive the 45 minutes to get to the mall so I can see it. I hate the mall but it will be worth it.

Shana-LynnApril 20, 2007 - 6:26 am

Erin, that is so awesome. What a cutie pie Sarah is! She looks great! I will have to go back to babGap and check out the new display. Love it.

MeganApril 20, 2007 - 7:28 am

I agree with AK. How could that cutie not help selling the house?

JodiApril 20, 2007 - 7:30 am

Leave that bad boy up for your showings!!!

Does your listing price reflect the fact that you have a major celebrity living there today…so famous she’s got 6′ x 8′ head shots? 🙂

TerryApril 20, 2007 - 7:57 am

And you and your sister got upset with me for keeping your “larger than life” 16×20 high school graduation pictures up for so long… I can hear Sarah at 8, and 10, and 13 and 21, “but mom, it’s such an old picture, it’s sooo big, it scares my friends….” But for now, I just wish I had one! Love, Mom

AmyApril 20, 2007 - 8:07 am

Too bad you had to take it down–it really did look great! Can’t wait to see it in the stores!

StephanieApril 20, 2007 - 8:10 am

That is one BIG picture and a BIG tube too! So cute!!!

meganApril 20, 2007 - 8:55 am

I want to know what Sarah thought seeing herself like that. Did she even know it was her?

AnonymousApril 20, 2007 - 10:01 am

I hope you put the picture back up for bookclub. Don’t know if I will make it to the mall in two weeks. I can just see Caroline in love with the picture. Wouldn’t Samantha love to have that picture in Caroline’s room? A perfect decor! Gina

JessicaApril 20, 2007 - 10:02 am

Just precious, Erin!! I would like to have one of those of Sam, but where would I put it??? hmmm. . .

AnnaApril 20, 2007 - 10:04 am

hehe, you always crack me up, Erin =) I miss chattin’ with you – Good thing I can keep up with you through your so fun blog!

SamanthaApril 20, 2007 - 10:42 am

I think we will have to get our very own larger-than-life Sarah for our new house. Cause nobody can appreciate it the way Caroline can! It is truly a gorgeous picture of a very sweet little girl.

Aunt LuApril 20, 2007 - 11:01 am

I think you should hang that “Bad Boy” up on your garage door.

JenniferApril 20, 2007 - 11:30 am

Who wouldn’t want to buy a house that once belonged to a famous model??? I say leave that sucker up to impress buyers!! Seriously though – how cool is that? It’s HUGE!! It’s certainly going to add a twist to house-shopping – gotta have a wall big and prominent enough to showcase it!!

ColleenApril 20, 2007 - 11:38 am

Oh my! It’s FAB-U-LOUS. What a cutie. Especially as an huge window display. I would cringe to see myself that big. She, on the other hand, is absolutely adorable…

J.J. KillinsApril 20, 2007 - 12:19 pm

WHAT? they’re taking them down in two weeks??? but alla loves going into the store and saying ‘hi sarah’ !!!

ShelleyApril 20, 2007 - 1:28 pm

StacyApril 20, 2007 - 5:43 pm

Oh My!

lizApril 20, 2007 - 8:24 pm

I LOVE the 8ft PB! It would cheer up even Alexander (YES! I’m in the inner circle. That was one of my favorites growing up – probably b/c I was a big crab!)

jennyApril 21, 2007 - 8:29 am

How exciting!
A friend & I are going to a large mall (we live in the sticks…*smile*) next weekend & we will be on the look-out for PigBear.

Of course, now you need to find a new house that has a “worthy” spot for her poster. 🙂

P.CApril 22, 2007 - 5:46 pm

We just took a visit to see the “Gigantic Pigbear;” So cool.
Now, I’m not sure who Alexander is, but I think Lily and he may have a few things in common.

ChrisApril 22, 2007 - 9:13 pm

oh my goodness! You mut feel VERY proud!. She looks lovely. I’ve been going into Baby Gap looking for her shots and asking the assistants when they’re going to be up…I guess it won’t be long before they’re up and I can say…I sort of know her mummy, she’s an amazing photographer!

tashaApril 22, 2007 - 10:56 pm

No picture of the pigbear can be rediculously too big, no picture. I love it. Those pictures of the container are superb. You rock..

Mom2Cam...Wife2GerApril 23, 2007 - 8:47 am

I’ve never left a comment to you but follow your blog frequently and my sister and I just think she is just the cutest little thing ever. Yesterday we were walking around baby gap and we both just gasped when we recognized that cute little face! Shes famous even in Pennsylvania!

AndreaApril 23, 2007 - 11:32 am

I can’t wait to see that at our babyGap! I saw the smaller ones a few weeks ago, but, man, that big one is gorgeous!

Kelly KuntzApril 23, 2007 - 2:08 pm

I saw Sarah this weekend at the Mall of America! I had to stop and gawk, my friend and husband thought I was crazy, and explaining that I knew her because to the internet made me even crazier…

She had the whole front window display. It was awesome, and I meant to take a picture, but got too wrapped up in it 😉

MarlaApril 26, 2007 - 9:17 pm

Oh my gosh, Erin, that this is HUGE. But, she is way cute. 🙂
