Pi’bears is torn between two worlds.
The one where little children nap for hours and wake up pleasant and rested and ready to face the rest of the day, and the one where they don’t.
She’s trying to shed her nap and at four years old I realize it’s probably time. Even if I’m hesitant (read: internally screaming “please Lord nooooooooo!!!” at the top of my lungs) to let it go.
Most days we agree on a quiet time with her in her room doing puzzles or reading books or adhering stickers to any and every flat surface (hey, whatever it takes people). Once in a blue moon she’ll announce that she’s tired and she’d rather sleep than have quiet time. But more often she’ll head to her room with the intention of having quiet time and an hour later she’ll be fast asleep.
Which means that if that happens on ballet day she’s stuck with a 30 minute nap and a bad case of the post-nap grumpies.
Case in point:

Sorry Pi’bears. You’re just too cute not to photograph.
Even grumpy.
