the 26 day countdown…

First of all, thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers while Sarah was sick. She’s finally back to full-strength and ready to begin her birthday countdown! I’m not quite sure where the last 11 months have gone. Caroline turns 1 on Friday which means that one year ago this week Samantha and I were waddling around the neighborhood on our daily walks, thrilled that we’d finally reached October – birthday month! We wondered what our babies would look like, when they would arrive (I was convinced Sarah would be early, Samantha sure Caroline would be late…huh!), and we began making plans for what kind of mommies we’d be.

A few days later we discussed our game plan for labor day and decided that we’d call each other no matter what time it was. Needless to say, I was shocked when our telephone rang at midnight that night. Surely, it wasn’t Samantha on the phone, at least two weeks away from her due date. But it was. And just like that, the two preggos were wittled down to one. And Samantha was well into her skinny jeans by the time I delivered Sarah, 22 days later, 11 days late. But worth every single second of that stinkin’ wait.

I’m beginning to think that this is only the beginning of my October nostalgia. You may just be in for a few more posts like this. For now, check out our little Pigbear, who is still measured by months for the next 26 days.

Sarah is looking back to normal and happy. I can’t get over how big she looks. I’m glad she is feeling better.

Great pictures of Sarah. I am feeling sooooo nostalgic too, so bring on the posts. Can’t believe our girls are almost one.

What a darling little one we have — she does look so grown up. I recognize that chair and remember when my one year old was rocking in it.

She looks like such a big girl! Love the pictures (as usual!) I distinctly remember the “waddles” around the neighborhood, maybe even more so since I’m now the one waddling!

It’s truly a gift that you have all these wonderful pictures to be able to look back on as Sarah gets bigger and bigger. Just wait a couple more years then you’ll really be nostalgic!

As her special birthday nears I hope to see an update on all the farm animals that have been donated in her name!

Wow, she looks like a little girl, not a baby anymore. Well, at least like a toddler now. She gets cuter and cuter everyday. You’ll have to take a “bookclub baby” shot and get all of the kids together for me!

WOW! You know, this is the first time when I’ve though, “hey look, Sarah looks just like Erin.” That must be her 1-year-old-ness coming through.
ps Happy Birthday, Caroline!
