plugged in

Well, we’re on the road. Eight hours in actually. Three hours left tonight and we’ll call it a night.

Sarah is munching on rock candy, cleaning her hands with a wet wipe (always), chattering intermittently.

Ephraim is gnawing his rock candy stick, zoning out to Cars, fighting sleep.

Brent is driving, scanning for backwoods AM radio, looking forward to seeing the guys.

I am blogging from my (waterlogged) phone, stealing glances at the backseat hoping to see sleeping babes, enjoying the quiet.

Travel is good.

I am just the opposite, I hate car rides with a passioN!
maybe because my family is 9 hours away and I am forced to do the drive!
it was fine the first 10 years, but 21 years later I am so DONE WITH IT!!! LOL!
thankfully my girls are GREAT travelers now! they weren’t so great as babies through age: 5
oh, and my 9 year old is such a germ freak that she is always using wipes and washing her hands non stoP!
I know the feeling well LOL!

Bruce and I have had some of our best talks on the 11 hour drives to/from Milwaukee. When the kids were little the talks happened when the kids were asleep, now they happen when the headphones are on and they are zoned into a movie.

Long stretches in the car are hard on the rear end, but are great for getting caught up with my sweetie!

See you when you get back home?

your garbage can sure looks unsafe over there, all alone. Somebody could just roll it into their truck and be gone with it. i had better be a-toten’ it back over to our house. You know, for safe keeping and all.
