ten on tuesday.

1. If I survive the next three weeks without losing my mind I’ll count it as a major win! It’s Fall, y’all. Bring on crazy Erin. =)

2. Sarah’s birthday surprise was a HUGE success. She went to my mom’s last weekend and while she was gone Brent and I pulled together an epic redo of her bedroom. Her builder taupe walls turned into the purple she’s always wanted, her bookshelves became a big girl desk, the canopy she’s always dreamed of was hung, and lots and lots of extra touches were added. She was one delighted (and surprised) little girl when she got back. But the best part has been how she can’t stop thanking us. She loves it and we love her. Win, win!

2. Now the countdown to Ephraim’s birthday begins. Just 22 days until our spunky boy turns 6!

3. Clearly our family full of Fall birthdays was planned before I became a portrait photographer.

4. But you know what’s helping motivate me through some long work days lately? Brett Dennen’s new album, Smoke and Mirrors. Besides the title track feeling borderline emotionally manipulative, I’m in love with the whole stankin’ thing. And I’m claiming “Wild Child” as the new theme song for my children.

5. The marketing geek in me totally loved this post: famous brands updated with honest taglines.

6. My sister asked on Facebook today if an occupation related tattoo could be deemed a tax write off. She claims she was “asking for a friend” but we all know the truth…I’m about to get a camera and camera strap tattooed across my chest.

HA!

(And for the record I say go for it Meghan. I promise I won’t tell Mom.)

7. So what about the Ohio State band bringing it lately? WOW!

8. I’ll never forget being newly married and feeling utterly lonely when staring down a long weekend alone in Ohio while Brent was away for weeks of training. I broke down in tears at school when what felt like the umpteenth well-meaning coworker asked what I had planned for the weekend. But the school librarian came to my rescue (don’t they always?!) and invited me to join her family for an Ohio State football game. What kindness! That simple invitation really changed my outlook…and I got to see the famous Ohio State band to boot!

9. Dark chocolate flavored almonds: my new obsession. Although I think almonds may forfeit their health value when you dust them in chocolate and proceed to eat the entire can. Oops.

10. This afternoon our family joined some friends for a trip to Tate Farms for the 7th year in a row. Pictures to come!

I thought that looked like a new bedroom! That project is on our list at some point. We moved into our current home when our daughter was 2, so her room is almost identical to her room from our first house. We did it exactly the same. But, it is coming time to up the ante on it and turn it into a big girl room. It’s just such an epic project, I don’t like to think about it!

Loved the ads! And isn’t dark chocolate supposed to be really good for you? (as long as we don’t eat them all in one serving! oops! its happened before!)
