pet minis, round one | huntsville family portraits

After spending last Friday in and out of our tornado safe room (aka our bathroom stocked with helmets, shoes, and Cheez Its) we woke up bright and early Saturday morning to a beautiful sunshine-y day. What a blessing! It was the perfect day to head outdoors and photograph families with their beloved four legged friends.

As each family walked up with their sweet pup I was reminded of my son’s current favorite book, Ten Dogs in the Window, which beautifully illustrates how each family chooses the perfect dog for them. It was so much fun seeing the personality of each animal…and how the families lit up just having their dogs around. As a non pet owner it was such a treat!

These little guys, Beatrix and Thor – English and French bulldogs – seem to be the best of friends. And they were lovingly doted on by their sweet parents.

And check out sweet Lily the Lab…she came portrait ready, didn’t she?! (She takes after her beautiful brother and sister.)

Henry, the first Goldendoodle of the day, is an old friend. He and I watch the Bachelor together on Monday nights. But shhh…don’t tell his guy friends. 😉

And while I’ve photographed Cooper the dog’s sweet boy before, this was my first time to get his bounding mug in front of my camera. What a perfect dog for a growing boy!

Caesar rounded out the morning with his sweet and calm disposition. It’s a good thing he’s got those qualities since he’ll be welcoming a new baby brother (the human kind!) to his family soon!

Stay tuned tomorrow for the rest of our sweet pups!
