oil portraits with Bekah Bynum | huntsville children’s portrait photographer

It’s always a joy to preserve the personalities of my sweet little ones for posterity. I often imagine the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of my young friends admiring the spunky personality of their loved one as a child. It brings me so much satisfaction to think of these portraits as living, breathing memories for generations to come.

This year we’ve added an entirely new line of portraits to our offerings. I’m thrilled to have teamed up with Bekah Bynum (whom you may know as the creative genius behind Spirited Art) to offer hand painted oil portraits of my images. It’s such an honor to work with Bekah…she is such an amazing talent. If you’ve been to the Cottage recently, no doubt you’ve commented on the handsome man hanging in the front room. “The Charles” as we’ve come to know him is one of Bekah’s original works. And I’m in love with it.

And I’m thrilled that on Monday morning a short drive to Guntersville brought me to this little lady – our next Bekah Bynum/Erin Cobb collaborative oil portrait subject. Oh what a beauty she is! I have no idea how in the world her parents will ever select the image they’ll have painted. I’m so glad that’s not my job!

I love the the calm, muted nature of these projects. Although it’s somewhat of a departure from my traditional full-range work. So you know I had to sneak in a little sass…

Don’t you think that would be lovely in oil? Ha!

Now this is more like it…

If you’d like to preserve the memory of your sweet child in this way, be sure to chat with Bekah or me about your own oil portrait. We’d love to work with you!
