Huntsville certainly has it’s fair share of summer thunderstorms and if you’re a natural light photographer like I am it’s something you just have to work around. When I arrived for this session last week I was confident that the drizzle we were getting was going to clear up imminently. Well, my confidence is shot! We literally had to dash in and out of the house every time the thunder clapped and the rain started pouring again. Couple that with the extreme humidity that had my lens fogging in a major way everytime I went indoors or out and it was an adventure to say the least!
The good news is that my partners in crime were more than happy to be along for the ride… I grabbed that shot when I saw a break in the clouds. Then when it started up again we ran to the backporch and I grabbed this one…
Then it was big brother’s turn to brave the weather with me. (I think he was actually braver than I was!)
Pretty quickly the storm made it clear that it wasn’t clearing anytime soon. So we headed to the front porch to see if the kiddos would snuggle together while we watched the rain pour down around us. Turns out snuggling during a thunderstorm is the perfect way to occupy two preschoolers!
Do you think the post office would mind if I stole their whole “neither snow nor rain nor dark of night…” tagline?
