This sweet girl was an instant favorite of mine because she and I have my maiden name in common. So I knew I would love her before she even showed up and then…

well, she made it easy!

She brought along a few of her grandmother’s french sewn works of art. Can you even handle the sweetness of her in this bonnet?!

I can’t.

She’s only three months old but was so alert and inquisitive. There’s a smart little girl inside this precious body, I guarantee it.

Thanks for the fun my sweet little friend!

happy, happy birthday baby | huntsville and madison one year old portraits

Last week I headed up “the mountain” (to my Colorado friends…it’s different here) to photograph one of my favorite families. Our excuse for getting together was the first birthday of this little princess…

As the baby of the family and the only girl, she’s a treasure. And to quote her mama from my Facebook page earlier today, “Wait until her daddy sees this picture…”

Although I’m pretty partial to this one myself…

Every princess should celebrate a birthday by eating cake topless in a tutu at least once in her life…and the earlier she gets it out of the way, the better, right?!

The session didn’t entirely focus on the birthday girl though, we took plenty of time to photograph the rest of the crew too (including their sweet puppy who wandered up just in time!)…

And you know me, I can never leave well enough alone…there was definitely some tickling in order!

Happy Birthday sweet baby R!

Mandy - Thank you sooo much Erin! You have exceeded my expectations once again!! If anyone ever asks me if it’s worth the investment to capture their little ones in photographs I will show them these.
We will treasure them forever! Thank you!

Granny Pat - My heart is singing! Thank you for such ….. no words to describe… these pictures.

Mandy - I can’t stop chuckling over the topless tutu picture. Something tells me she’s going to take quite a ribbing for years to come. You can’t look at that picture and not laugh!!!

Last week I had a celebrity baby at the Cottage. Her mama is a teacher at my kiddos’ school which definitely equals celebrity status around here. Forget the latest baby Kardashian…this girl is Huntsville famous…

Her brother is her biggest super fan as you can plainly see…

And here they are after a rowdy night out at the club…

KIDDING!

That’s just what milk drunk looks like.

Thanks for coming sweet baby B. I can’t wait for you to send all of your celebrity friends my way…

Natalie - MARVELOUS!

Angie Norwood - Oh! I am a PROUD aunt! Hugh and Belle are the cutest!! Love the pictures and I definitely want the 3rd one, so send me a bill. :)

I have been photographing this sweetheart since she was a toddler and I have always loved our time together.

But y’all.

The personality. I can’t get over it.

One of the most delightful things about this job is getting to watch the kids I love grow. And this little one is coming into her own like a champ. We had a blast together while her mama kicked her feet up with a drink inside the Cottage. And I could have stayed outside photographing this face all day.

She, on the other hand, gave me a time limit.

She also gave me an earful on life as a kindergartner, which you may know is one of my favorite subjects.

Thankfully she also gave me a set of beautiful portraits and stunning looks…

All the while insisting that she had her own “moves” to show me. Like this…

There were others too. Well, really just one. And if you’ve seen Mary Katherine Gallagher on SNL, you’ve seen it.

Which is only one of the million reasons why I absolutely adore this child.

baby blue | huntsville one year old portraits

Yikes. I think I promised to post this sneak peek yesterday afternoon. I promise these cuties are worth the wait though!

I’ve been dying to get this little one year old in front of my camera for some time now. And I was thrilled when he showed up in blue gingham to match his baby blue eyes…

In fact, he and his big brother both rocked the baby blue…

and the eyes!

His mama said family shots were “not a priority”…but they’re always a priority in my book After all, moments like this are absolutely priceless.

These guys braved the wind, some rain, and even the presence of my own sneaky five year old to make their session happen. And I’d say they pulled it off beautifully!
