cloudy skies | huntsville children’s photographer

Answer me this: why has every single indoor session I’ve had this year taken place on an overcast day?

First person to answer that gets the keys to my business.

(um. there are no keys. I work out of my house.  And I swear we can’t find a spare key. So nevermind.)

The whole “how dark is too dark?” question can be a hard call for a natural light photographer and the answer is, “I really don’t know until I’m there.” Fortunately at last Saturday’s fun girly session it was dark but not too dark and I had a blast nosing my way around the house finding pockets of light. I love the deep shadows you can get on an overcast day. Call me crazy. (I know you already do.)

This little one definitely does. If I were a fly on that wall, I’d call me crazy too.

Are those the most gorgeous blue peepers or what? Holy big eyes, Batman!

With a big ol’ personality to match.

And speaking of matching, how’s this for some careful coordination on her mama’s part…

One more that I love.

And then it was little sister’s turn.

Little sister who didn’t get that memo that when the photographer puts you on your belly you must stay there.

(her poor mama got her excercise repositioning her 87 times!)

As it turns out my little friend knew was was best for her. Because she was all kinds of cute laying there looking up at me!

Then she started posing and the fun really began…  Weird Erin confession: I have this thing about smelling the people in my family. I like to snuggle and sniff them and smell their warm, lovable familiarness.  Am I alone?

Forget it, don’t answer that.

The point of that was to say, when I look at these pictures, I swear I can smell my own babies.

Weird confession (and adorable blog post) over.
